Stock market update: FMCG stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading higher on Monday at 11:20AM

Marico Ltd.(up 5.37%), Emami Ltd.(up 5.37%), Dabur India Ltd.(up 3.90%), Godrej Consumer Products Ltd.(up 3.30%), Bajaj Consumer Care Ltd.(up 3.30%), Adani Wilmar Ltd.(up 1.99%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(up 1.95%), LT Foods Ltd.(up 1.78%), Procter & Gamble Hygiene & Healthcare Ltd.(up 1.42%) and Colgate-Palmolive(India)Ltd.(up 1.38%) were among the top gainers.

Future Consumer Ltd.(down 5.21%), Honasa Consumer Ltd.(down 4.26%), Heritage Foods Ltd.(down 2.66%), Umang Dairies Ltd.(down 2.05%), Prataap Snacks Ltd.(down 1.71%), Zydus Wellness Ltd.(down 1.61%), Bikaji Foods International Ltd.(down 1.61%), Parag Milk Foods Ltd.(down 1.40%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.34%) and Dodla Dairy Ltd.(down 1.13%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 42.45 points down at 24281.4, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 135.77 points at 79860.83 at around 11:20AM.

Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(up 1.89%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(up 0.93%), Nestle India Ltd.(up 0.87%), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 0.85%), ITC Ltd.(up 0.8%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd.(up 0.73%), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 0.73%), Reliance Industries Ltd.(up 0.63%), Wipro Ltd.(up 0.62%) and Infosys Ltd.(up 0.55%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Titan Company Ltd.(down 4.03%), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(down 2.9%), Adani Enterprises Ltd.(down 1.78%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(down 1.69%), Shriram Finance Ltd.(down 1.47%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(down 1.23%), JSW Steel Ltd.(down 1.11%), Asian Paints Ltd.(down 1.09%), UltraTech Cement Ltd.(down 0.92%) and Cipla Ltd.(down 0.82%) were trading in the red.
