During the April-June quarter, air-conditioner manufacturers experienced significant revenue and profit growth due to heightened demand from a severe summer. Key players such as Voltas, Blue Star, Whirlpool of India, Johnson Controls-Hitachi, and Havells (owner of the Lloyd brand) reported substantial increases in both top-line and bottom-line metrics.

Voltas Q1 Results: Air conditioning maker Voltas on Monday posted a 160% year-on-year (YoY) jump in consolidated net profit to Rs 335 crore for the June quarter of FY25. It had clocked Rs 129 crore profit in the year-ago period.

In the company's unitary cooling products segment, which includes the AC business, revenue surged by 51% year-on-year to Rs 3,802.17 crore for the quarter under review. Segment profitability increased by 58% year-on-year, reaching Rs 327.02 crore. As the country's largest AC brand, the company reported record sales of one million units last quarter, with an overall volume growth of 67% year-on-year.

Shares of Voltas Ltd. rose by 7.18%, reaching a high of Rs 1563.0 on Monday. The company's market cap was Rs 50304.41 crore. Sales for the quarter ended 31-Mar-2024 grew by 58.64% from the previous quarter, despite a 19.09% decline in net profit year-on-year.

Revenue from operations for the company, which also makes AC stabilizers, rose 47% to 49.04 billion rupees, led by a 51% growth in its cooling products segment.
