How can you design AI software systems to be robust to noise and uncertainty?
Deliberately adding noise to data has been shown to improve robustness of models in various tasks and fields. For example, in computer vision, training images are often enriched with augmentations such as flipping, random cropping, translating.
-
How can you design AI software systems to be robust to noise and uncertainty?
Monitoring tools Grafana or DataDog can be helpful in visualizing errors and failures that might arise from noise and uncertainty. Error codes can be used to track unexpected errors. Logging tools like open search can help trace back related logs to help with understanding the sources of the errors.

How can you design AI software systems to be robust to noise and uncertainty?
It would be rare for a single system to solve all your problems. At this stage, in addition to defining the problem clearly, stating assumptions could help clarify what kinds/groups of inputs are expected and what aren't. Those that aren't could be noise or additional signals that may not have been considered before. This step could also help guide the iteration of the system's design and how to address feedback later on in the process.
-
How can machine learning professionals get the recognition they deserve?
One of the ways to add content that wouldn't be easily perceived as noise could be documenting yourself trying out a new tool, library, or even a programming language. Not only would you get practice in exploring new tech to keep up with what's out there, you could also showcase how you explain your thoughts and methods.
