Jesse Arreguin is the mayor of Berkeley, California. He was elected in the general presidential election on November 8, 2016 to a renewable four year term.[1] He was sworn in as mayor on December 1, 2016.[2]

Prior to his election as mayor, Arreguin served as a Berkeley City Council member representing City Council District 4 beginning in 2008.[3] He is a Democrat (although local government positions are officially nonpartisan per California state law).
