Great insights shared at the #AMWE2024 this morning! #Noise is not only about WHAT you hear, but HOW and WHY you hear it, and also WHEN, because of stress and concentration disturbance risks... thanks to MUSE partner ONERA - The French Aerospace Lab for the great contribution !! #Visualpollution is so diffuse that an approach must be defined to measure and reduce it. #Satelliteimages is a key technology for that, and our dear partner IGN FI shows how to exploit them to define metrics and limit #airtransport impacts of citizens' quality of life. Thanks to Forum Virium Helsinki and Comité d'Expansion Economique du Val d'Oise (CEEVO) for key insights on how to prepare for #UAM and where the MUSE SESAR Project outcomes come into play 💡 and to POLIS Network for the setup and moderation of this key session 🗝
Sustainable Urban Mobility and air transport are not always a happy combination. Of course there is a clear added value for the use of drones in emergency services, traffic control monitoring, fire brigade sensing and where it replaces existing helicopter flights. But you can have doubts when industry is talking about 'mass production' of VTOL's for vertical public transport in cities. This morning at Autonomy a highly inspiring session "Getting to grips with air transport in cities" brilliantly moderated by Manon Coyne from the POLIS Network and with an interesting line up. Description session: "Can we move over cities, right above buildings, roads, and gardens, to complete urgent deliveries and access hard-to-reach areas? Find out which opportunities low-level airspace transport offers, and the inevitable downsides it entails. This panel discussion brings together experts representing different perspectives on the topic, from innovation and urban planning to technical developments. The most important is indeed to maintain stakeholder dialogue to inform decisions on the topic. To start with – or continue and enrich your knowledge, join this session!" It is of critical importance that cities and regions are aware of this development and get ready. We need to make sure that not industry but cities and citizens are at the forefront of decision making about our urban mobility system. After dealing with car dominance we're not waiting for another plaque ruining our cities.
