🔔Exciting news from our Korea Floating Wind project! The Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Korea has awarded the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for our entire 1,125 MW floating offshore wind project off the coast of Ulsan. This approval marks a significant #milestone in the development of our two-phase floating offshore wind project, moving us closer to the construction phase. 📅 Korea Floating Wind, a project developed by OW Ocean Winds and Mainstream Renewable Power (MRP), has successfully secured the EIA approval after over 12 months of extensive onsite monitoring and consultations with local communities, stakeholders, and fisheries. This achievement underscores our commitment to upholding the highest #EnvironmentalStandards, drawing on the rich expertise of our sponsors. Austin Park, Korea Floating Wind's project director, expressed his pride in this accomplishment: ➡️" (…) Our goal is not only to generate 1,125 MW of clean energy and contribute to Korea’s energy transition but also to ensure that we coexist harmoniously with local communities, other sea users, and the environment." What a week to be #ProudtobeOW! 🌍⚡ Learn more about this achievement! 👇 https://lnkd.in/diSX3tCG #OffshoreWind #RenewableEnergy

Sobre nosotros
Ocean Winds (OW) is an international company dedicated to offshore wind energy and created as a 50-50 joint venture, owned by EDP Renewables and ENGIE. Based on our belief that offshore wind energy is an essential part of the global energy transition, we develop, finance, build and operate offshore wind farm projects all around the world. When EDP and ENGIE combined their offshore wind assets and project pipeline to create OW in 2019, the company had a total of 1.5 GW under construction and 4.0 GW under development; OW has been adding rapidly to that portfolio and is now on a trajectory to reach the 2025 target of 5 to 7 GW of projects in operation, or construction, and 5 to 10 GW under advanced development. In 2024, OW’s offshore wind gross capacity already operating, contracted or with grid connection rights granted reaches more than 18 GW. OW, headquartered in Madrid, is currently present in 8 countries, and primarily targets markets in Europe, the United-States, selected parts of Asia and Brazil. Today OW has a global presence, integrating diverse people all over the world. We value and promote this diversity as a factor creating value and innovation. We recognize that multiplying differences is to go further, to bring together points of view and ways of seeing the world, to integrate all aspects, to be consciously inclusive, particularly by means of profiles, paths and experiences that bring value and enable us to do what we have to do best. We foster diversity and inclusion by ensuring equal opportunities as an employer, which we also encourage in our suppliers. LET’S COWRITE THE FUTURE OF ENERGY TOGETHER!

Great #News🔔| Moray West hits halfway point in turbine installation 📍 We are excited to announce that our Moray West offshore wind farm has achieved a major milestone, with more than half of the total 60 Siemens Gamesa turbines now installed. 🏗 Following the successful delivery of first power in July, our teams continue to make strong progress toward reaching full power by #2025. At OW Ocean Winds, we remain confident in our timeline and goals, thanks to a talented and committed OW team, focused on delivery. Once fully operational, Moray West will deliver 882 MW of clean energy, adding to the 950 MW from the neighbouring operational Moray East project. This will be complemented by the future contributions of 2 GW from CALEDONIA Offshore Wind Farm and 2.3 GW from #Arven, both currently under development. 🔎 Discover here all about our #MorayWest Project! https://www.oceanwinds.com #ProudtobeOW #RenewableEnergy #OffshoreWind

🎉 We celebrate 4 years of #WindFloatAtlantic generating clean energy, while making a positive impact! In July 2020, our three #floating offshore wind turbines began supplying power, unlocking new opportunities globally. Their true impact, however, lies in our commitment to the local community, our dedication to preserving the environment and its biodiversity, and the positive impact of offshore wind energy! 🙌 Day after day, OW Ocean Winds remains actively engaged with the local community, working on ensuring they feel part of this great project, and are as proud of it as we are! But who is better to tell you about the links of the project with the local communities of Viana do Castelo than our recently appointed OW Ambassador, Pedro Afonso Rodrigues ?! 🌊 Pedro is an international kitesurfer, born and raised in Viana do Castelo, that is helping us promote offshore wind and its benefits, not only in its home city, but also around the world! 🗺 Take a look at the interview of Pedro, conducted by our Country Manager for South Europe and Project Director of WindFloat Atlantic, José Pinheiro, and registered right after Pedro’s amazing kitesurfing session in between the floating offshore wind turbines of WindFloat Atlantic! 👇 What a day to be #ProudtobeOW! 🌬 #renewableenergy #offshorewind

Great news! | Researchers at the University of Limerick have pioneered a robotic solution for inspecting floating offshore wind farms, that was tested at our #WindFloatAtlantic project! With the aim of advancing the maintenance of floating structures, a remote-controlled vehicle developed by UL was successfully tested in our pioneering operating floating offshore wind farm, WindFloat Atlantic. 🌬 Why do we support these innovative initiatives? ➡ Enhance reliability and reduce costs through advanced maintenance strategies for offshore wind farms. ➡ Find solutions to one of the challenges of inspecting a floating turbine, which is the movement of this structure. The UL team managed to minimize this effect by using an adaptive control system for the remotely piloted vehicle. The intervention, repair and maintenance survey were carried out by a team from the Centre for Robotics and Intelligent Systems (CRIS - UL) at UL. Congratulations to them! 🙌 José Pinheiro, our Country Manager for Southern Europe and project director for WindFloat Atlantic commented, “These initiatives are essential for advancing the floating offshore wind sector to commercial scale, as well as continually improving operation and maintenance strategies for bottom-fixed installations. This collaboration not only drives innovation but also sets a precedent for implementation in other countries and projects." At OW Ocean Winds, we are committed to foster development and innovation within the industry, and these datasets and findings will be accessible through gold open-access articles and proceedings, benefiting the public, academia, and government. Last week, we had the honor of hosting Mr. Duarte Bué Alves, the Consul General of Portugal in Manchester, at the Port of Nigg! Guided by Catarina Rei, our Head of Permitting and Environment, the Consul had the opportunity to tour the Port of Nigg, which played a key role in the construction phase of our Moray West project. Currently, the port serves as the assembly site for wind turbines prior to their offshore installation. This visit provided a great opportunity to showcase the synergy between our operations in the UK and the potential for future projects in Portugal! It highlighted how at OW Ocean Winds we collaborate with local and national ports in the UK, demonstrating their potential involvement in major projects and the socioeconomic benefits they have brought to the region. OW’s extensive international experience in collaborating with ports and infrastructure, like those in the UK, will be instrumental in guiding and developing the necessary infrastructure for upcoming Portuguese tenders. This synergy will enable us to apply our successful strategies from the UK to Portugal, enhancing the development of these future projects! OW Ocean Winds is already active in Portugal through #WindFloatAtlantic, the world's first semi-submersible floating offshore wind farm and Portugal's only one, which successfully demonstrates the readiness of this technology and OW’s capability to expand it nationwide. We sincerely appreciate your visit, Consul General. #ProudtobeOW #renewableenergy #offshorewind
