The European Union (EU) and the @European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) have partnered to create a new facility to invest in the exploration of critical and strategic raw materials. The facility will provide up to €100 million in equity investments for projects in EU member states and selected EBRD countries. ⭐ SUCCESS STORY | In 2020, ANEFA, the Spanish Association of Aggregate Manufacturers, set itself a challenge: to digitalize the European aggregate industry. With support from Zabala Innovation, they launched their first H2020 project, DigiEcoQuarry , securing funding from the European Commission. They went on to successfully propose two additional Horizon Europe projects, ROTATE and SCIMIN-CRM, obtaining over 33 million euros in funding. 💬 "The team at Zabala Innovation who assisted us with proposal writing is not only highly skilled but also hardworking. They treat everyone in the consortium with the utmost respect, even during the most stressful times when deadlines are tight. How is the EU doing on innovation?     The 2023 Innovation Output Indicator (IOI) has just been published! It tracks the performance of 46 countries worldwide, measuring their capacity to derive economic benefits from innovation.     Our report shows that the EU outperforms New Zealand, Australia, and China in terms of innovation, but it still lags behind its main competitors, including the United States, South Korea and Japan.     Within the EU, Sweden and Germany lead as the top performers, followed by Finland and Ireland. The Consejería de Transición Ecológica, Industria y Desarrollo Económico (Regional Ministry of Ecological Transition, Industry, and Economic Development) of the Principality of Asturias will promote the reuse of construction and demolition waste as raw material for works and infrastructures. The Regional Minister Nieves Roqueñí, during a ROTATE conference (a European Commission project led by the Asociación Nacional de Empresarios Fabricantes de Áridos - ANEFA) is committed to recycling the nearly 300,000 tonnes of this type of material generated annually in Asturias. "Our commitment is to maximize the available resources so that they remain as long as possible in the production cycle, to reduce waste generation and contribute to achieving a sustainable, decarbonized, resource-efficient and competitive economy", concluded Roqueñí. https://lnkd.in/dGWuUhRi
