PureH2, proyecto coordinado por Enagás e impulsado por CRS Ingenieria, Trinity Energy Storage, H2SITE e Iberpotash (ICL Iberia), ha sido elegido por el IDAE Instituto para la Diversificación y Ahorro de la Energía por su innovación para almacenar #HidrógenoVerde. Un proyecto basado en la optimización de los sistemas de purificación para almacenamiento de hidrógeno renovable en cavidades salinas, que recibirá financiación por parte del IDAE en el marco del Plan de Recuperación, Transformación y Resiliencia de NextGenerationEU, financiado por la UE.

Underground storage facilities are strategic infrastructure in which natural gas reserves are kept in order to match supply and demand and meet consumption peaks that may occur throughout the year due to seasonal variations and other factors. Trinity Energy Storage is a member of several research consortiums, working on the development of green hydrogen undergroung storage facilities, taking advantage of the geological structures that currently operates in the Guadalquivir basin.

The official kick-off event of the #EUH2STARS project took place this week. From 18th to 20th of March all international project partners came together in Vienna. Day 1️⃣ The kick-off started with a Welcome Dinner in the heart of Vienna. So far, the consortium had just met online, so this was a great opportunity to get to know each other in person and to talk about various topics concerning the project. Day 2️⃣ During the kick-off workshop on Tuesday all participants got an overview about the project and its different working packages. The EUH2STARS project officer Dionisis Tsimis and the financial officer Nora Ovcharova from the Clean Hydrogen Partnership joined online in order to follow the presentations and give an overview about project and financial reporting. Day 3️⃣ On Wednesday the project partners had the chance to visit the Underground Sun Storage 2030 site in Rubensdorf in Upper Austria, which will further be utilized as physical demonstrator within the scope of the EUH2STARS project. This way the project partners gained insights into a 100% hydrogen storage in a depleted natural gas reservoir. We are delighted that all project partners took their time to come to Austria and are looking forward to working together for the next 5 years!
