📣 Announced today 📣 Great British Energy, a new publicly-owned company to help make the UK a #CleanEnergySuperpower, create jobs across the UK in our supply chains and boost our energy independence. ⚡ It will work in partnership with the private sector and The Crown Estate to accelerate the deployment of new #RenewableEnergy projects. Opportunities for business will include: ✅ Bringing forward new #offshorewind developments, with the potential to deliver up to 20‑30G W of extra offshore wind seabed leases to the market by 2030, to develop the future energy our country needs. ✅ Stimulating new technology in areas such as #floatingwind, #hydrogen, #carboncapture and #tidalenergy, to keep the UK at the cutting edge of the energy transition. ✅ Investing in #ports and clean energy #supplychains, unlocking strategic bottlenecks to speed up the delivery of existing projects. ✅ Ensuring that future development, including the next round of leases, has lower risk for developers, enabling faster buildout from leasing.
