Adele plans to take a 'big break' from music after Las Vegas residency

"I don’t have any plans for new music at all," she said.

Adele isn't planning on saying "hello" to new music any time soon.

The Grammy-winning chanteuse said she's looking to take a "big break" from music following the end of her lengthy Las Vegas residency and a forthcoming 10-performance residency in Munich, Germany.

"My tank is quite empty," she told German broadcaster ZDF. "I don’t have any plans for new music at all. I want a big break after all this, and I think I want to do other creative things just for a little while."

Rather than going on a world tour, Adele celebrated the 2022 release of her fourth album, 30, with a Las Vegas residency, "Weekends With Adele." After postponing the shows by several months, she performed 34 concerts between Nov. 2022 and March 2023. She then extended the residency, playing an additional 34 shows, and added a final extension of 32 shows that played between Jan. and June 2024.

She will play a 10-day residency in specially-built stadium in Munich in August.

As a result, Adele said she is burnt out on performing music for the time being. "You know, I don’t even sing at home at all," she added. "How strange is that?"

Adele had previously told audiences at a January show that she wasn't planning to "write an album for quite some time."

She has yet to provide any details on what some of the "other creative things" she might pursue could entail, though she proved herself a gifted comedian while hosting Saturday Night Live back in 2020.

Reportedly, she applied for a U.K. trademark for The Shelbourne Collective Limited, which is registered under the label "specialized design activities."

Adele's fans are plenty used to waiting a long time between albums. There were six years between 2015's 25 and 2021's 30. So, the main question is how long of a break is she talking about?
