Liv Tyler is negotiating to join a cast that already includes Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, Variety reports. In an apparent nod to Smith’s breakthrough film ”Clerks,” Tyler would play a video store clerk who enters the lives of the married couple played by Affleck and Lopez, according to Variety. Affleck and Tyler (who’s busy appearing in all three ”Lord of the Rings” flicks) last teamed up in 1998’s ”Armageddon”… After ”Scooby-Doo” gobbled up $54 million worth of box office Scooby snacks in its first weekend, Warner Bros. has fast-tracked a sequel. The full cast — Matthew Lillard, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Freddie Prinze Jr., and Linda Cardellini — is set to return for a second ”Doo,” which is expected in 2004, Variety reports. Screenwriter James Gunn and director Raja Gosnell are also slated to return. Unfortunately, Scooby-Doo himself is holding out for more money, and may be replaced by Yoda… Britney’s sister, Jamie-Lynn Spears, is all of 11 years old, so it’s about time she found herself a job. Jamie-Lynn has been cast in the Nickelodeon show ”All That,” according to the New York Post. Her plans for a recording contract and world domination have not yet been announced, but stay tuned… ”Gilmore Girls” star Lauren Graham will play the female lead in ”Bad Santa,” joining Billy Bob Thornton and Bernie Mac in the cast of the black comedy, according to Variety. Terry Zwigoff (”Ghost World”) will direct… Greg Kinnear is in negotiations to star opposite Hayden Christensen in ”Shattered Glass,” based on the true story of disgraced journalist Stephen Glass, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Kinnear would play New Republic editor Chuck Lane, the trade paper reported… Peta Wilson, the Teutonic former star of TV’s ”La Femme Nikita,” has signed to play the female lead opposite Sean Connery in ”The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen,” according to Variety. Wilson will replace Monica Bellucci, who had previously been set to play the role. ”League,” based on acclaimed writer Alan Moore’s graphic novel, centers around a Victorian-era version of a superhero team, headed by Connery, who plays adventurer Allan Quatermain… Mos Def has signed on to play a robber in the heist movie ”The Italian Job,” according to Variety. The movie stars Mark Wahlberg and Charlize Theron.
