'Girl With the Dragon Tattoo' and H&M team up

After commissioning collections from Madonna and Versace, H&M is going decidedly grittier this fall. The Swedish retailer is looking closer to home to launch a 30-piece line based on The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo's anti-heroine Lisbeth Salander. Trish Summerville, the costume designer for David Fincher's American Dragon Tattoo remake, is spearheading the project. Fashionistas can expect stylish takes on Salander's tomboy aesthetic that include battered jeans, cropped leather jackets, tribal earrings, leather boots, and platform wedges. See the video teaser for Salander chic after the jump.

Summerville's Dragon Tattoo collection hits stores Dec. 14, one week before the film's Dec. 21 opening.

What do you think, PopWatchers? Will you be lining up at your nearest H&M? If so, which pieces do you covet the most? If not, do you think bringing Lisbeth's anti-style to the mass market presents a contradiction? Is Lisbeth Salander an appropriate style icon?
