That is so fetch: Tina Fey wants Mariah Carey for 'Mean Girls' musical -- We cast other characters

Mean Girls

While talking to E! Online on the red carpet at the SAG Awards, Tina Fey mentioned that she thought Mariah Carey could star in her Mean Girls musical. (She told EW of her plans to turn her hit film into a musical back in our September cover story.)

“Maybe she can play Amy Poehler’s part,” Fey joked, after discussing Mariah’s knowledge of the film.

Mariah Carey as Mrs. George? She certainly has the singing voice for the role. But who else would we cast in our perfect production of Mean Girls?

Skylar Astin as Aaron Samuels: We know he’s cute, and we know he can sing. Is there anything else that matters?

Amanda Seyfried as Karen Smith: Amanda Seyfried is the only person we want to tell us when it’s already raining outside.

Naya Rivera as Regina George: Although you can take your pick of any blond mean girl Hollywood has to offer, Rivera’s work on Glee has proven that she’s an expert when it comes to playing a not-so-nice high schooler. Plus, Regina George like totally has to have an awesome singing voice, right?

Brittany Snow as Gretchen Wieners: Because her hair is full of secrets.

Tina Fey as Ms. Norbury: As if this wasn’t obvious.

Jonathan Groff and Lea Michele as Damian and Janis Ian: We would love to see these beautiful, real-life besties take on this pair.

Anna Kendrick as Cady Heron: And this is why.

But at the end of the day, as long as the plastics wear pink on Wednesdays, this musical will be so totally fetch. We know, right?!

What stars would you cast in your Mean Girls musical?
