Ron Howard: 'Arrested Development' update

What’s the latest on the Arrested Development front? Is the movie finally happening? What about more episodes on Netflix? WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON? WE NEED TO KNOW! Well, we asked the show’s humble narrator/producer/actor Ron Howard when he stopped by the Entertainment Weekly Radio (SiriusXM, channel 105) studios today for the latest update, and there is both good news and bad news.

First, the good: “Everybody wants to do more,” said Howard. “Mitch [Hurwitz] did initiate the whole thing as the beginning of a kind of mystery that needs to be solved, and somehow or another I’d be shocked if we didn’t find a way to solve it and do that.” Sweet! But then there’s this. “Everybody is incredibly busy, he added. “There’s no timetable. No writing has begun.” Dammit! But wait, back to the good news! “Creatively, I think it is everybody’s intention [to do more].” Okay…you know what? All things considered — we’ll take it!

I thought it was sort of ingenious. It was this amazing novelistic version of the show.”) and how “there is some sort of sadistic Brian Grazer Ron–Howard thing going on.”
