The future of the Alien franchise admittedly looks a little confusing at the moment. Chappie director Neill Blomkamp was recently brought on to helm a new Alien sequel, tentatively expected in 2017. At the same time, original creator Ridley Scott gears up for a sequel to his Alien prequel Prometheus, tentatively called Alien: Paradise Lost.

Fans can rest easy, however, knowing that Blomkamp is hard at work on his Alien project. The director recently uploaded a picture to his Instagram account of the new pulse rifle the characters will be carrying. Blomkamp notes in his caption that these rifles will have “added RIS.” Rail Interface System means scopes and lights can be added to the rifle.

There is no firm release date yet for Blomkamp’s Alien movie, but Alien: Paradise Lost (the Prometheus sequel/Alien prequel) is currently set for a 2017 release.
