Trailers From Hell kicks off Hellection week with A Face in the Crowd

In director Elia Kazan’s 1957 political drama A Face in the Crowd, the great Andy Griffith plays a character who becomes a hugely influential political figure by appealing to a television audience he secretly despises.

Did this Budd Schulberg-penned classic in any way foreshadow the 2016 election? You might very well think that — we couldn’t possibly comment.

Either way, the Trailers From Hell website has chosen the eve of the presidential election to repost Oscar-nominated A History of Violence screenwriter Josh Olson’s promo clip-length examination of the movie, which will be followed later in the week by looks at Mr. Smith Goes to Washington and The Candidate.
