Christopher Meloni is writing a Law & Order: Organized Crime season 5 episode — Mariska Hargitay to guest-star

The episode marks another "Law & Order" reunion for Meloni and Hargitay.

Somebody get Elliot Stabler a pen.

Actor Christopher Meloni, who's played the detective on several series in the Law & Order franchise, is writing the second episode of the upcoming season 5 of his current show, Peacock's Law & Order: Organized Crime, PEOPLE reported Thursday.

He also told the magazine that Benson, his former partner (and soulmate?) from his days on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, played by Mariska Hargitay, "will be with OC for a moment there." In all, Hargitay has appeared on 13 episodes of OC.

While Meloni has starred on that show for four seasons, he costarred alongside Hargitay on SVU from 1999 to 2011. He returned to it a handful of times in each of the last three seasons.

Not surprisingly, Meloni wouldn't reveal what exactly is planned for the duo. He said he also "can't speak to" whether he would make any more cameos on his former show.

"I'm going to have an opportunity to... I don't know," he said. "I'll tell you what. hopefully, uncover, peel away a little bit more of the onion or uncover a little more depth of feeling between them."

And they do have deep feelings. Seriously, a counselor once said they were "too close."

In May, Hargitay revealed to Variety that Benson and Stabler were (finally!) going to lock lips in season 24, but plans were scrapped.

"To be honest with you, Chris and I thought it should go one way and the powers that be didn't, so it got changed at the last minute, that near kiss," the actress said. "Obviously Dick [Wolf, the show's creator] gets final say. It's his show and he didn't want that."
