Drew Barrymore says her daughter 'tries to pants me all the time' because she doesn't wear underwear: 'It's a joke!'

Drew Barrymore is sharing the dangers of going commando. 

In a clip from Thursday’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show (above), the host revealed that one of her daughters keeps trying to pants her all the time because she knows that her mom doesn’t wear any underwear. The cheeky conversation came up after Barrymore, her co-host Ross Mathews, and the episode’s guest stars Boy George and Saturday Night Live’s Chloe Fineman began discussing a recent Page Six article that revealed Martha Stewart has ditched underwear in favor of sporting a swimming suit underneath her clothes. 

“Do you ever go commando?” Mathews asked the table. “Or is that a no, no?” In response, both Fineman and Barrymore confirmed that they’ve both done it in the past by raising their hands.

In fact, Barrymore goes commando often enough that her two young daughters, Olive and Frankie, have caught onto it, adding, “My daughter tries to pants me all the time too because she knows I'm not wearing any underwear.” 

Mathews then turned to give the camera his surprise reaction to Barrymore’s revelation, which prompted the host to immediately clarify the situation. “It’s a joke!” She exclaimed. “But yeah, I’m like, ‘Just make sure this is an inside the house thing.’”

Chiming in, Fineman admitted that she’s worn bathing suits underneath her clothes in the past as a last resort. She explained, “My journey is like, I've run out of underwear, then I'll wear a bathing suit and it's kind of like a spank, and then I'll go commando. and then I'll get my laundry back!”

As for why Drew does it? Well, she simply replied, “I enjoy commando.”

“Why?” a baffled Mathews pressed. “Because it freaks me out. It makes me so — anything could — no. It could go real left.” To which Barrymore replied, “You mean like having your daughter come up and pull your pants down?”

Mathews then specifically asked why Barrymore enjoys wearing no underwear. “Well, I wear sweatpants,” she explained, leading Boy George and Fineman to applaud her bravery. “I wear it every day and there's just this nice sort of sweatshirt material.”
