In 2006, The Hills made its debut on MTV. Starring Laguna Beach alum Lauren Conrad — and featuring a supporting cast of Whitney Port, Audrina Patridge, Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt, Brody Jenner, and Lo Bosworth, among others — it ran for six seasons and became one of the network's most successful reality shows.

The unscripted drama and its original cast returned for the 2019 revival series The Hills: New Beginnings; however, it was canceled after two seasons. But don't worry, MTV ordered another reboot with a more diverse cast of Gen-Zers — even if some of the O.G. cast members aren't exactly thrilled. To honor the show's roots, here's a rundown of the original cast, then and now.

After stepping back from Laguna Beach in 2005, Conrad got her own spin-off show with The Hills. The series followed the former Laguna Beach High School student as she made her way to Los Angeles to chase her fashion dreams.

She left The Hills in the show's fifth season and kicked off a successful business career in the lifestyle space soon after. Conrad published her first book in 2009, the novel L.A. Candy, and went on to release additional works of fiction and best-selling guides like Lauren Conrad Style, Lauren Conrad Beauty, and Lauren Conrad Celebrate. The reality alum expanded her empire with fashion lines, blogs, retail collections, a fragrance, and an eco-friendly makeup brand.

Conrad married musician William Tell in 2014, and the couple welcomed two sons, Liam James and Charlie Wolf, in 2017 and 2019. She did return for New Beginnings.

Patridge joined The Hills for the length of its run, becoming a close personal friend to Conrad and adding drama to the show, thanks to her relationships with Justin Bobby and Ryan Cabrera.

After the final episode aired in 2010, Patridge continued her reality TV career with a stint on Dancing With the Stars. She competed in the show's 11th season, placing seventh with partner Tony Dovolani. Patridge went on to lead the short-lived reality show Audrina in 2011, served as a host for NBC's travel series 1st Look from 2014 to 2015, and appeared in episodes of Hollywood Medium With Tyler Henry, Very Cavallari, and Celebrity Family Feud.

Patridge also tried her hand at an acting career with appearances in Sorority Row (2009) and Scary Movie 5 (2013) and on the series Dream Maker. The reality star officially split with her BMX rider husband Corey Bohan in 2018, and the pair share custody of their daughter, Kirra Max Bohan. Patridge starred on The Hills: New Beginnings and released a memoir, Choices: To The Hills and Back Again, in 2022.

Port was introduced to The Hills as one of Conrad's fellow interns at Teen Vogue in the show's first season. She stuck around for two years before picking up her own spin-off series, The City. Airing from 2008 to 2010, the series followed Port as she moved to New York City, started a job with People's Revolution, and worked on her own fashion line, Whitney Eve.

Throughout her career, Port has served as a judge and host on shows like Genuine Ken: The Search for the Great American Boyfriend and Britain's and Ireland's Next Top Model; cameoed in What to Expect When You're Expecting; released her clothing line COZeCO; and married former The City associate producer Tim Rosenman, with whom she reacts to The Hills episodes — among other MTV reality series — on her YouTube channel. The couple welcomed their first child, Sonny Sanford, in July 2017. Port returned for both seasons of The Hills: New Beginnings.

Conrad's best friend from Laguna Beach High School appeared on The Hills for five seasons after graduating from UCLA.

Soon after the show's wrap, Bosworth released her book The Lo-Down in 2011. Known collectively as "Speidi," Montag and Pratt became The Hills' most-hated couple after Pratt joined the show in its second season. Conrad's former best friend and Brody Jenner's villainous bro started dating in 2007, going on to tie the knot in a 2009 ceremony that was featured in an episode of The Hills.

While Montag pursued both singing and acting careers, both she and Pratt are still best known for reality TV, thanks to appearances on the British version of Celebrity Big Brother; I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!; and Marriage Boot Camp. Speidi welcomed baby Gunner Stone in October 2017, and brought the youngster with them to the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards to announce they'd be joining the reboot. Following the New Beginnings cancellation, Montag gave birth to their second child, Ryker, in November 2022.

One of the most successful alums of The Hills, Emily Weiss only appeared in three episodes of the series, in 2007. She was featured in the second season, when she was a New York-based intern for Teen Vogue who threatened to upstage Conrad and Port at the magazine.

Weiss worked for W and Vogue after her stint on the show, going on to found the lifestyle blog Into The Gloss in 2010 and the high-end beauty company Glossier in 2014, which led her to be featured on Forbes 30 Under 30 list and Time's "Next 100." The business savant stepped down as Glossier's CEO in 2022, staying on the board as executive chair. She gave birth to a daughter in June 2022.

Spencer Pratt's sister, Stephanie Pratt, was introduced in the third season of The Hills. A friend to the women, Stephanie often found herself caught in the middle thanks to Speidi's fights with one another and their castmates.

After the show, she made appearances on British shows such as Made in Chelsea and Celebrity Big Brother, released the tell-all book Made in Reality, and developed a jewelry collection. Stephanie joined her brother and sister-in-law on the Hills revival.

Adding to her résumé with acting roles on Veronica Mars, CSI: NY, and The Middle, Cavallari also competed in the 13th season of Dancing With the Stars in 2011. Cavallari continued her small-screen work with hosting and cameo appearances, and released her autobiography, Balancing in Heels: My Journey to Health, Happiness, and Making It All Work, in 2016, as well as three cookbooks (True Roots, True Comfort, and Truly Simple). She married NFL player Jay Cutler in 2013 and is the mother of three children with the athlete; the couple divorced in 2022.

Cavallari returned to reality TV in 2018 with her E! show Very Cavallari, which followed her and her then-husband managing their fashion and lifestyle brand Uncommon James in Nashville for three seasons. The star appeared in two episodes of the Hills reboot.

The same year he started appearing on The Hills as a friend and love interest to Conrad and Cavallari, Jenner also made his debut on Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

The son of Caitlyn Jenner, Brody continued to pop up on KUWTK for years after The Hills aired its final episode. Starring alongside his Kardashian step-sisters and half-sisters, he also dropped in on I Am Cait for one 2015 episode and led the short-lived talk show Sex With Brody the same year. In 2018, he got married to lifestyle blogger Kaitlynn Carter and the couple made an appearance on New Beginnings before their separation in 2019. He announced in January 2023 that he was expecting his first child with girlfriend Tia Blanco, a professional surfer.

Bunney graduated from USC in the late-2000s, going on to earn master's degrees in public health and business fields and begin coursework for a doctorate. She married Taylor Dunphy in 2014, and now works and studies in the public health space. Bunney is godmother to Speidi's eldest son, Gunner Stone, but didn't return for the Hills revival.

He came to the show after appearing on Laguna Beach and returned to reality television in 2010 for a stint on Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew.

Wahler has since addressed his struggles with addiction, taking to Instagram in 2018 to share that he relapsed after years of sobriety and dedicating himself to helping others get sober. In December 2022, he celebrated three years of sobriety. He married Ashley Slack in 2013, and they welcomed baby Delilah Ray in 2017. Wahler was a returning cast member on The Hills: New Beginnings.
