Daniel Radcliffe rocks the accordion and Hawaiian shirt in first Weird Al biopic trailer

Weird: The Al Yankovic Story will hit the Roku Channel later this year.

Are you ready to rock? Daniel Radcliffe is.

In the first trailer for his upcoming film Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, Radcliffe gets shirtless on stage, hails crowds full of adoring fans… and plays the hell out of that accordion.

The squeezebox is, of course, the signature instrument wielded by "Weird Al" Yankovic, in both his world-famous pop parodies and his polka compositions. The other signature element of Yankovic's performances is his ever-present Hawaiian shirt, of which Radcliffe rocks several over the course of the one-minute teaser (we count at least four).

It's hard to tell right now how much of Yankovic's decades-long career will be covered in the film, but his 1986 Madonna parody "Like a Surgeon" plays on the soundtrack, Radcliffe is briefly seen wearing the medical scrubs of the song's music video, and the trailer ends with a hint of Evan Rachel Wood as Madonna.

Back in March, Radcliffe revealed on The Tonight Show how he ended up playing Yankovic. The answer dates back to 2010, when the Harry Potter alum sang "The Elements," Tom Lehrer's novelty song about the periodic table, on The Graham Norton Show.

"I sang 'The Elements' next to Colin Farrell and a very bemused Rihanna, who I think was like, 'Who is this kid and why is he singing all of the elements?'" Radcliffe recalled. "And I guess Al saw that and was like, 'This guy maybe gets it.' And so picked me."

Weird: The Al Yankovic Story will stream free on the Roku Channel this fall. Check out the new trailer above.
