Run the Jewels drop acid, stand in a police lineup in 'Legend Has It' video

Run the Jewels released the first music video to accompany their recent album, Run the Jewels 3, on Wednesday. The rap duo (Killer Mike and El-P) shared the “Legend Has It” clip via their Facebook page.

In the clip, both men drop Run the Jewels-branded acid and see multiple versions of themselves in a police lineup. The video “plays with the theme of guilty until proven innocent,” director Brian Beletic said in a statement accompanying the video. “We live in a world where the stronger the truth the greater the opposition. In this story, El-P and Killer Mike are in a police lineup, and the cards are stacked heavily against them.”

Run the Jewels released their third album late last year on Christmas Day. “Our role is this: We can provide some swagger in the face of doom and in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds,” El-P told EW when discussing the project’s political bent. “No one can tell you what the f— you’re gonna do with your life. No one can stop you from taking what’s yours.”
