Mariah Carey's 'All I Want for Christmas Is You' returns to No. 1 on U.S. charts

Mariah Carey has gifted herself another diva-sized chart record this Christmas as her signature holiday hit returns to No. 1 on the American charts.

Billboard confirmed Monday that the icon's Yuletide favorite "All I Want for Christmas Is You" has re-peaked atop the Hot 100 ranking, which lists the most successful songs in the country based on sales, streams, and radio airplay.

With "All I Want for Christmas Is You" ascending to the top spot once again, Carey has now tied Rihanna for the record of most singles spending four weeks or more on top of the chart, with seven each. Carey also extends her reign of having the most collective weeks at No. 1 in chart history, logging her 83rd frame on top since the launch of her career 30 years ago. Rihanna trails her at No. 2 with 60 weeks, followed by the Beatles at 59, and Boyz II Men and Drake tied with 50.

Though "Christmas" was first released on Carey's first holiday album in 1994, it didn't reach the No. 1 position until 2019 to give the singer her 19th overall chart-topper. It returns to the summit for the first time in nearly a year for the chart dated Dec. 19. To date, the song has amassed 812 million streams on Spotify, pulling in 31.4 million overall streams and 7,000 downloads last week to regain its No. 1 placement.

Elsewhere on the chart, Carey's "Oh Santa!" collaboration with her Magical Christmas Special costars Jennifer Hudson and Ariana Grande enters the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 76 with 6.3 million streams and 10,000 paid downloads, while Jose Feliciano's "Feliz Navidad" jumps to the top 10 at No. 10 for the first time since its 1970 release with 23 million audience impressions on radio, 18.5 million streams, and 3,000 single sales.

"It really was a special moment. I think people felt it in the room," Carey recently told EW of singing with Grande and Hudson on a remix of the solo "Oh Santa!" song she first released in 2010. "I enjoyed it as a producer and a songwriter. It was cool just to take a new approach with it, because that was always my [original] inspiration, for it to be a girls' group type of thing. But I layered it and made it my own girls' group when I first did it, and to reinvent that song with these incredible women was a very special moment."
