Watch Sebastian Stan's Donald Trump fumble interview about lawsuit in new Apprentice movie clip

Jeremy Strong co-stars in the clip, which previews Stan's radical transformation into a young Trump.

Sebastian Stan might've undergone a radical transformation into Donald Trump for the new film The Apprentice, but, judging by a new preview for the upcoming drama, some things never change.

The actor appears as a younger version of Trump in the new clip (below), alongside Succession star Jeremy Strong, who plays Roy Cohn, the lawyer who represented Trump during his early career in New York City's business sector.

The footage begins with Cohn (Strong) speaking to a reporter on the phone as he and Trump (Stan) ride through Manhattan in the backseat of a car.

"Listen, Judy, about 100 reporters were crawling up my ass to get this interview, and I gave you the exclusive," Cohn says, before passing the phone to Trump. Reporter Judy then asks Trump what he's going to do next, "now that the lawsuit is behind you," though she doesn't specify which legal matter.

"I intend to acquire The Commodore, I'm planning on making it the best and the finest building in the city, maybe the country," Trump says in the future politician's signature rambling tone, while Cohn looks on and tries to coach him. "In the world, Judy, in the world. It's going to be the finest building in the world, it's going to be spectacular hotel, absolutely spectacular, first-class."

Judy then asks him where he gets "the drive" to continue, to which he responds: "I've got flair and I'm smart. I think that's going to make me successful. But, I also want to stay humble."

Cohn then snatches phone from Trump, and tells the reporter, "Let's do the rest in person, and bring a photographer, okay?"

While Trump processes the flub, Cohn advises him once again: "I mean, listen, you're alive. You've got a ways to go, but, uh, you're learning."

Entertainment Weekly has reached out to Trump's representatives for comment on the clip, after the ex-president's team previously expressed interest in potential legal action in response to the film, following its world premiere at Cannes in May.

The Ali Abbasi-directed film follows Trump throughout 1970s New York, where he forms a powerful partnership with Cohn as the pair team up to forge a new path for Trump in the business world.

The Apprentice — which takes its title from Trump's popular NBC reality competition series of the same name — also stars Oscar-nominated Borat Subsequent Moviefilm actress Maria Bakalova as Ivana Trump, who was married to the president in 1977 and divorced in 1990, and a revolving door of other familiar figures in Trump's life, including Fred Trump (Martin Donovan).

Following the film's debut at Cannes, critics were split on the project, though Abbasi looked forward to the 2024 presidential election cycle (in which Trump is running as the Republican nominee) as a potential booster for its commercial prospects.

"Yeah, and we have a promotional event coming up called U.S. election, it's going to help us with the movie," he joked.

Stan also told reporters at the festival that he felt "there's a lot to learn from the film," after Abbasi shrugged off the threat of potential legal action from Trump's campaign by telling journalists that "everybody talks about him suing a lot of people, they don't talk about his success rate, though."

The Apprentice releases Oct. 11 in theaters nationwide. Watch Stan play Trump in the new clip above.
