But fans of the innuendo-loving double act can rest assured that their show’s legacy is in good hands. Channel 4 announced Thursday that quirky comedian Noel Fielding (The Mighty Boosh) and Sandi Toksvig (a panel show regular in the U.K. and host of BBC comedy quiz show QI) will step up to the work bench as the show’s new hosts when it returns for its eighth season later this year. In a statement from Love Productions, the company that produces the Great British Bake Off (as it’s known in the U.K.), Fielding shared his excitement at the appointment: “GBBO is one of my favorite shows. I’ve always loved brightly colored cakes and Sandi Toksvig so this is a dream come true for me! She joins original judge Paul Hollywood at the tasting altar, the only original cast member to make the move. “I could not be more delighted by who will be joining me on the show,” said Hollywood. “Prue is a hugely respected culinary legend, and Sandi and Noel are warm and utterly hilarious. I cannot wait to get back in the tent with the bakers.”
