Season 5 kicked off with the most shocking reveal in Masked Singer history. The Snail was eliminated, but instead of a celebrity taking off their mask, the shell cracked open to reveal the show's first non-human contestant: Kermit the Frog! After the unshelling, EW scored an interview with the famed amphibian, who said all the Muppets knew he was doing the show, but he made sure they wouldn't spill the beans. "When I went to do Masked Singer, I turned off the Wi-Fi, locked the stage door, and kept them distracted by giving them a room full of bubble wrap to pop. This way they couldn't tell anyone anything until after the show was over."

Phoenix

THE MASKED SINGER: Phoenix
Michael Becker / FOX

The Phoenix was the first celeb eliminated from Group B. The regal red bird's mask flew off to reveal Olympic gold medalist and reality television star Caitlyn Jenner. Following her elimination, Jenner told EW that because her family is made up of "professionals at keeping secrets," she shared her masked news with famous daughters Kendall and Kylie Jenner. "I told both of them because we're really close. And I said, 'You can't believe it, girls, this is what I'm doing.' And when I told them I was doing The Masked Singer, they both said the exact same thing: 'Why are you doing that?!'"

Raccoon

Masked Singer
Michael Becker/FOX (2)

Raccoon's time scavenging the Masked Singer stage has come to an end. The lovable trash panda took off his furry face to reveal Machete himself, actor Danny Trejo. The action star told EW he "couldn't stop laughing" when the panel kept guessing his identity as actors he has worked with, but never him. "I was in a movie with Joe Pesci, and we're like buds. And Jon Voight I did my first film with him. And Sylvester Stallone I worked with. They just kept going on. But it was just so much fun."

Grandpa Monster has fallen, and he's not getting back up. The Masked Monster Family patriarch was eliminated in the second showing of Group B and revealed as controversial YouTuber and boxer Logan Paul, not Morgan Freeman as panelist Jenny McCarthy had bizarrely guessed.

Nick Cannon

The panel was in for a night of surprises during the Group B finals, first when new wildcard contestant Bulldog was introduced, then when guest host Niecy Nash announced she was going to decide who to eliminate and chose Bulldog, and finally when the big dog was unmasked as the person she'd been filling in for, Nick Cannon. Now that the dog is unleashed, Cannon will return to his hosting duties for the rest of the season.

Orca

The first Wildcard to enter the competition was also the first to go. The killer wailer swam away after revealing himself to be Sugar Ray rocker Mark McGrath. After his elimination, McGrath revealed to EW that he was "terrified" to compete on TMS. "I was freaked out to do the show because it's a singing competition, you know? Yes, I do make my living as a singer, but I was terrified to do the show to begin with."

Crab

The Masked Singer
Michael Becker/FOX (2)

Things got real during a special 2-hour Super 8 episode that saw the elimination of two singers. First to get the claw was Crab, who was unmasked to reveal singer Bobby Brown. Funny enough, two other contestants this season have performed songs by Brown's former boy band New Edition, including host Nick Cannon during his short stint as a competitor. Brown told EW he enjoyed hearing their versions. "To hear the songs I thought was great. Great energy and lots of fun. Nick Cannon singing 'Candy Girl' was something else."

Seashell

The Masked Singer
Michael Becker/FOX (2)

Seashell was next to get washed away in the Super 8 special. She cracked open her mask to reveal Sister Sister star Emmy-winning host of The Real Tamera Mowry-Housley. The actress revealed to EW that even her famous twin didn't know she was doing the show. "It was hilarious. Tia texted my brother, then my brother called me. And my dad called me. He was so excited. So the secret, I mean, I couldn't hold it for too long amongst my family members."

Robopine

the masked singer
Michael Becker/FOX (2)

Half robot, half porcupine, fully eliminated. Robopine just couldn't handle the heat of the "Spicy Six" episode. The cyborg-like beast removed his spiky mask to reveal Fast & Furious actor, singer, and former model Tyrese Gibson. The star admitted to EW that he lied about being a 60-year-old grandpa from Costa Rica because he thought the Paul Walker hint in his clue package would make his identity to easy for fans to guess.

Russian Dolls

THE MASKED SINGER
Michael Becker/FOX (2)

The show said do svidaniya to its first-ever trio, the Russian Dolls. After keeping fans guessing all season over how many people were actually inside, the mask cracked open and all three members of popular '90s family band Hanson MMMBopped their heads out. Brothers Isaac, Zac, and Taylor Hanson revealed to EW that the bulky costumes were just as difficult to maneuver as they looked. "The challenge with those dolls being the size that they are is you really do have to be very hyper-aware of the possibility of tripping, falling off stage, or colliding with each other, which we did do a couple times in rehearsal," Isaac said.

Cluedle-Doo

THE MASKED SINGER
Michael Becker/FOX

Resident prankster Cluedle-Doo hijacked the show one final time to prove he also had pipes—and then reveal his identity. The cock of the walk turned out to be a New Kid on the Block: Donnie Wahlberg. The reveal was especially shocking to the actor and former boy bander's wife, panelist Jenny McCarthy, who had guessed it was Akon.

Yeti

THE MASKED SINGER
Michael becker/fox

In an abominable twist, the Yeti, who seemed in it to win it, was eliminated in the semi-finals. The cool as ice creature was revealed to be another former boy bander, B2K member turned Grammy-nominated solo artist Omarion. The singer told EW his jaw-dropping performance on skates earlier this season was all his idea. "I was like a professional rollerblader early on in my traveling career. So when they asked me what was a hidden talent, I said rollerblading, and then it was, 'Wait a minute, oh, this is gonna be dope. A Yeti has never rollerbladed before.' I'm so happy that I was able to bring out that hidden talent because I couldn't think of anything else."

Chameleon

Chameleon

Rappers on The Masked Singer seem to have bad karma, as Chameleon learned by being the first out on the season 5 finale, just as Bow Wow was last season. The charming singer was unmasked to reveal 10-time Grammy nominee Wiz Khalifa. The "See You Again" and "Black and Yellow" rapper told EW he really became one with his costume. "It was a big ass head. And the platforms were a little bit challenging to walk around in and dance in, but for the most part, the costume was really comfortable. It was really kind of like part of my body."

Black Swan

THE MASKED SINGER
Michael Becker/FOX

No evil twin here, Black Swan was pure class as she floated through to the finals, but, sadly, her swan song came just before she reached crown. The runner-up was revealed to be "Leave (Get Out)" singer Jojo. She told EW she's been a superfan of the show, and one of her highlights in the competition was getting to sing with last season's winner LeAnn Rimes during the season 5 finale. "I was fangirling not only over LeAnn Rimes, but also like, over the Sun in general, because that was my favorite costume last year."

The Piglet

THE MASKED SINGER
Nick Lachey as Piglet on 'The Masked Singer'. Michael Becker/FOX

This little piggy took it all the way home. The season 5 Golden Mask Trophy went to the Piglet, who was unmasked as 98 Degrees member Nick Lachey. He told EW he credits fellow boy-bander and TMS alum Joey Fatone for helping him find the fun in the whole thing. "I talked to him after he was the Rabbit in the first season. He's like, 'Dude, if you ever do this, you have to like give your character a personality and have fun with it.' So that's what I tried to do. I tried to just go in there and have fun and be silly and do things I wouldn't be able to do as Nick Lachey, but you can definitely do as Piglet."
