ADC pre-incubator project and the winner of the Wood U Innovate -innovation competition 2023 Bubbles with Benefits is now on display at the Designs for a Cooler Planet festival in Marsio (Otakaari 2A). Bubbles with Benefits is financed with research-to-business funding by Business Finland. Similar to bubble wrap in many features, Bubbles with Benefits innovation is cellulose-based and biodegradable. Sustainable sealed air packaging material (bubble and foam wrap) provides the benefits of sealed air packaging material without harming the environment. It is completely plastic-free, non-toxic, and biodegradable, and low cost. It does not contribute to the current microplastic crisis as it is cellulose-based and dissolves in water. https://lnkd.in/gn5Xz5Kx

What happens after the program? Zachary Burda and the Mimiqit team took part in our pre-incubator program last spring. During the program they were building their team, getting ready to start the company and to launch their app in App Store. On top of that they were looking for funding. Now, they have raised the pre-seed funding and launched their version 2.0.2 of the Mimiqit dance application. Currently they are enrolled in Aalto Startup Center's Business Generator program. During their time in the Aalto Digital Creatives program, Zachary and the Mimiqit team also made this pitch video with us. One of our frequently asked questions is ’what happens after the program?’. The Mimiqit team’s story is one example, but what happens after the program varies depending what stage the team reaches during the program. The various routes may include other incubator or accelerator programs available at Aalto University or the team may apply to one of the other Campus Incubators in our network: https://lnkd.in/dKM_Tfwk. Whatever direction your team wants to go, you will receive guidance from our business advisors during the pre-incubator program. The final post in the series of interviews with pre-incubator participants introduces the founder of Moom Praejeen Kunawong ➡️ The team: I’m Praejeen, a visual artist and designer originally from Bangkok, currently based in Helsinki. I enjoy visualizing through unfamiliar mediums across different creative industries. The business idea: Moom is an AI visualization platform for busy architects and designers. By simplifying interfaces and the process of using visualization tools, Moom helps architects efficiently manage their time and reduce costs throughout the design process. What made you apply to the ADC programme? We aim to refine our business strategy and overcome challenges more effectively by seeking mentorship and industry expertise within the ADC startup ecosystem. Three most valuable things you got from ADC programme: - Shared learning of communal spirit  - Systematic and practical framework - Support system and mentorship Can you tell us about your next steps? Absolutely! We are currently conducting product tests with potential users and plan to launch our MVP in the next couple of months. 📸: Lassi Savola | Aalto Studios ___ Aalto Digital Creatives is Aalto University's Campus Incubator powered by the City of Helsinki, coordinated by Aalto Studios and Aalto Startup Center. New week, new interview! In this series of posts we introduce our pre-incubator participants from this spring's Aalto Digital Creatives programme. Next, meet the founder of SparkViewer Aaro Keipi ➡️ The team: I am Aaro Keipi, a Finnish-American photographer with a background in music, marketing, and web design. The business idea: Online shopping for accessories is at a disadvantage to in-person shopping, due to the difficulty of matching the aesthetic styles and colors of items that you own with items on a computer screen. My project is a subscription-based e-commerce add-on that seeks to fix this issue by allowing a shopper to upload an image of an item that they own and view it with an assortment of accessories that they are shopping for. What made you apply to the ADC programme? I have been interested in the startup world for years and this program seemed like the perfect way to get a jump-start into that world. Three most valuable things you got from ADC programme: For me, the most valuable things in the program have been: (1) being able to clearly see and prepare for the different phases of running a startup, (2) learning about the many resources available for startups, including team-building and funding, and (3) the positive and inspirational environment of the program and the university in general. What are your next steps? I am currently looking for a technical cofounder to help create a prototype of the product. Greetings to ADC followers: The ADC program is one I highly recommend. If you are on the fence about entrepreneurship or if you have an idea that you think might be worth developing, I encourage you to apply. 📸: Lassi Savola | Aalto Studios *** Aalto Digital Creatives is Aalto University's Campus Incubator powered by the City of Helsinki, coordinated by Aalto Studios and Aalto Startup Center. In Aalto Digital Creatives pre-incubator programme we have participants from various areas of the creative industries. In the series of interviews with this spring's incubator teams we introduce the business concepts and the people behind them. ➡️ Next, meet the founder of The Visit podcast Leda Vaneva. Introduction: I’m Leda Vaneva, visual artist who also loves meeting people. I’m originally from Bulgaria but I’ve been based in Helsinki for 10 years now. The business idea: The Visit podcast is a unique collection of conversations with artists, recorded in their own studios. One can listen to their amazing stories, but also see their work spaces and art, and learn from their experiences. What made you apply to the ADC programme? The realisation that I need some help and guidance in order to clarify and structure the project better. Three most valuable things you got from ADC programme: For me talking in front of an audience has always been a challenge, and the best thing about this program is the accent on pitching. It was super helpful to be able to break that barrier and share The Visit freely with others. The 1:1 sessions with mentors are another aspect I very much appreciate. Getting custom-tailored advice is very important. Also, the access to the premises of Aalto Studios was a great opportunity to add a little something special to my meetings with podcast guests. I’m also a maker, and I was able to create a chocolate mould at Aalto Fablab, so now every new guest gets The Visit complementary chocolates :) What are your next steps? I’ll keep doing the podcast as I absolutely enjoy the process of producing the episodes. However, I’ll think more strategically how to develop The Visit further, so more people can share the pleasure of meeting professional artists. Meanwhile, please check the podcast at https://lnkd.in/g99hfAfv 📸: Lassi Savola | Aalto Studios *** Aalto Digital Creatives is Aalto University's Campus Incubator powered by the City of Helsinki, coordinated by Aalto Studios and Aalto Startup Center.
