Micronotes Launches Prescreen Acquire
  • Micronotes launched Prescreen Acquire, a tool to help community financial institutions reach and acquire new customers.
  • Prescreen Acquire’s algorithms leverage big data to find creditworthy customers in geographical areas lenders are seeking to reach.
  • Prescreen Acquire is added to Micronotes’ other products, including Cross-Sell, and Digital Prescreen.

Digital engagement solutions provider Micronotes has launched Prescreen Acquire, a platform to help community financial institutions (CFIs) acquire new customers and members.

The new technology provides FCRA-compliant credit offers that are personalized to customers’ financial needs. To come up with the most relevant offers, Prescreen Acquire leverages 230 million consumer credit records, pulling credit, email, and direct mail data and delivery data.

The platform combines this big data set with the CFI’s underwriting criteria, rate sheets, and the geographical region they want to target. Prescreen Acquire’s algorithms are able to use this information to acquire new, creditworthy customers that CFIs are looking to reach.

Boston-based Micronotes was founded in 2008 and is privately held. The company’s technologies leverage AI, big data, and machine learning to help financial institutions use their data to better engage their customers, foster involvement, and ultimately build new revenue.

Micronotes’ other products include Cross-Sell, which helps CFIs leverage bank-held data to cross-sell new products using micro-interviews, and Digital Prescreen, which delivers personalized credit offers to customers who hold debt at a competing institution.

Founded in 2008, the company has raised a total of $23.3 million, including a $2 million Series C extension it closed last month. Devon Kinkead is Founder and CEO.

Today’s funds come from BankTech Ventures and add to Micronotes’ $5.5 million investment led by Experian Ventures with participation from existing investors. Closing the Series C round brings The Massachusetts-based company’s total funding to $23.3 million.

“We’re thrilled to partner with BankTech Ventures,” said Micronotes Founder and CEO Devon Kinkead. “This strategic investment will help us accelerate our growth in the community banking sector and help more communities get a lot more out of their banking relationships.”

How Micronotes is Empowering Consumers through Refinance

How Micronotes is Empowering Consumers through Refinance

AI marketing expert Micronotes recently launched a refinancing tool that will help consumers reorganize their debt, while enabling banks to lower their borrowing costs and boost customer retention.

The new tool builds on Micronotes’ ReFi solution it launched last June. The credit marketing automation suite enables banks to leverage AI to help their clients automatically identify refinancing opportunities for a range of consumer debt, including auto loans, personal loans, student loans, credit card debt, and mortgages.

With today’s advancement of ReFi, Micronotes is teaming up with Experian to leverage the firm’s database of consumer credit profiles. Experian will compare the bank’s current lending criteria to the consumer’s credit profile, and then synthetically refinance the customer’s existing debt held elsewhere while identifying other refinancing opportunities.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Experian to leverage artificial intelligence and data to help consumers lower their borrowing costs,” said Devon Kinkead, founder and CEO of Micronotes. “With an estimated $2 trillion in mispriced debt, during an era of persistently low interest rates, we help digital banking customers see where they’re overpaying interest that can be refinanced with a lender they know and trust — their primary financial institution.”

Micronotes’ personalization expertise comes in via the customer communication piece. The company will send the customer a message in the digital banking channel that informs them of the potential savings. Using Micronotes’ technology, the customer can respond to the message using preset, customizable quick-response buttons that range from “remind me later” to “chat with a banker.”

This quick-response messaging system is Micronotes’ bread and butter. The company was founded in 2008 to help financial institutions start conversations with their customers in a non-invasive way. At the company’s most recent Finovate appearance, FinovateSpring 2013, Micronotes showed off its cross-sell feature that uses predictive analytics to bring the branch sales process into the digital channel.

Headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, Micronotes has raised $12.2 million.

Micronotes to Scale AI-Enabled Marketing Platform with $3 Million in Funding

Micronotes to Scale AI-Enabled Marketing Platform with $3 Million in Funding

Cloud-based interview marketing company Micronotes has locked in $3 million in funding today, bringing the company’s total amount raised to $8 million. The round was led by TTV Capital, a VC firm focused on early-stage fintech companies. Vestigo Ventures, also an early-stage VC firm with a fintech focus, participated as well.

Micronotes will use the funds to scale its platform by bolstering the support of sales, marketing, and engineering. The Massachusetts-based company focuses on helping banks strengthen customer relationships with a platform-as-a-service (PaaS) that leverages machine learning to match customers with banking products and services.

The company offers three main products. The first is Cross-Sell, which helps banks cross-sell products by conducting a mini-interview with customers about their needs without disrupting core banking functions. NPS Module enables banks to individually measure the net promoter score for a large percentage of its user base, instead of just a small sample. And the Predict Module, which scores how relevant every bank product is to each customer, and help banks to anticipate their needs.

“Micronotes’ vision is to interview the world’s customers, all seven billion, starting with banking customers,” said Devon Kinkead, CEO and co-founder of Micronotes. “The team at Vestigo understands our mission and how data and technology can be applied to financial services to create better, stronger and more profitable customer experiences. We look forward to leveraging Vestigo’s strong operational expertise within financial services to rapidly expand into our beachhead market.”

Micronotes was founded in 2008 by serial entrepreneurs and MIT Sloan School alumni, Devon Kinkead and Christian Klacko. Ian Sheridan, co-founder and managing director of Vestigo Ventures, and a member of the Board of Directors for Micronotes, said that the two “represent the rare combination of deep expertise in AI with the ability to achieve superior business outcomes.” At FinovateSpring 2013, the company demoed how Alliance Federal Credit Union leverages its cross-sell capabilities. Last fall, Micronotes released free downloadable propensity scores to help banks access predictive marketing analytics on their clients.
