TechKnowledgy Conference 2024

November 19-20, 2024 James Madison University's Festival Conference and Student Center 1301 Carrier Drive Harrisonburg, VA 22807

Sponsored by the Virginia Department of Education’s Assistive Technology Network

The Virginia Department of Education’s Assistive Technology Network is planning the 2024 TechKnowledgy Conference in Harrisonburg, VA. The TechKnowledgy 2024 planning committee invites all interested persons to submit proposals to present during conference breakout sessions for Tuesday, November 19.

Through this conference, we seek for participants to not only learn about evidence-based assistive technology (AT) in educational, vocational, and community settings with students of all ages and disabilities, but gain skills that empower and equip them to implement high-leverage practices in their day-to-day work and activities. Target areas include: AT for transition, Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), inclusive technologies, literacy, numeracy, executive functioning, Early Childhood, family engagement, and AT related to the Virginia Essentialized Standards of Learning (VESOLs).

Presenters should plan to engage participants, including the use of practice-based learning opportunities, as part of their presentation. Each session will be 75 minutes in length. Each room will be set up to include a table, microphone, LCD projector, and screen. Presenters must provide their own laptop computer and handouts.

Proposals for sessions must be received by May 31, 2024. Presenters will be notified of their acceptance by August 9, 2024.
