Thanks for all that info.

But, ug, the prospects of catching a nice eclipse is very minimal. The cloud cover map is very revealing. Only the Spain area, and south, have a shot. But, with only a 7 deg. altitude, it won't take but a few clouds along the long atmospheric path to block the eclipse.

The low cloud chances for Mallorca is encouraging, but the 2.4 deg. altitude is a problem. Perhaps they have a tall mountain to improve this.

The top of some of the mountains on Mallorca would only improve the altitude by about 0.8 deg. by my questionable math.
