🌊 INNOAQUA Project's Second Biannual Meeting 🌊 From June 25-27, 2024, the INNOAQUA Project held its second biannual meeting hosted by Projects Blog Leitat. This significant event brought together INNOAQUA partners to present their progress and discuss collaborative efforts in sustainable aquaculture. Horizon4Proteins partners and related projects shared valuable insights into alternative protein sources and marine biotechnology. The project partners engaged in interactive workshops and strategic planning sessions. In the framework of the seminar “Maritime Decarbonization by Enabling Key Technology Symbiosis,” held on May 16-17, 2024, at the World Maritime University (in Malmo), the SEANERGY Project proudly presented the “Ports as Energy Hubs” session. GREEK ISLANDS AS CRUCIAL TESTBEDS FOR PORT DECARBONIZATION INITIATIVES: In the pursuit of sustainable growth, islands have emerged as significant testbeds for innovative technological solutions to be demonstrated at island scale and then replicated and upscaled to other insular and urban areas. Greek islands boast abundant renewable energy resources such as wind, solar, and wave energy. Harnessing these resources to cover the energy demand not only reduces carbon emissions but also enhances energy security and can reduce costs. By adapting to the unique geography of the islands, clean energy solutions can be optimized to meet the specific needs of island port facilities.
