INTRODUCING THE SECTION C.B.N. - ELEMENT’S MOST ENVIRONMENTALLY RESPONSIBLE SKATEBOARD TO DATE   We are proud to release, after more than two years of research and development the “Section C.B.N.”: a skate deck that is proven to have 43% less impact on the planet's climate change than our traditionally made skateboard decks in the same factory. It was created in partnership with Spain-based firm : HLC SB Distribution. With the help and expertise of the French-based environmental consultancy agency AIR coop, a full scientific lifecycle analysis of our traditionally made skateboard decks was carried out, discovering, and highlighting the areas where a skateboard deck is most harmful to the environment. By focusing on these key areas, we were able to determine which materials could be phased out of the manufacturing process, while maintaining the structural integrity and performance of the premium skateboard.   Components of the "Section C.B.N." : The deck is made from FSC certified wood and was assembled with materials that HLC has helped us to develop, source and utilize. The use of solvent free — water-based varnish, water-based glue, natural veneers, single color screen print graphic and bio-based packaging help contribute to this breakthrough.    For more detailed information on the Section C.B.N skateboard, please go on our website elementbrand.com where you can also find the full breakdown of the components: https://lnkd.in/eqdjMbmB Future = Nature. We are pleased to announce the release of 'Strata', a film by Jim Craven featuring Element riders Leon-Charo Tite, Jaakko Ojanen, Kukka Suvioja & Phil Zwijsen respectfully skating rocks on the island of Gozo. Tucked away in the heart of the Mediterranean, exposed to the elements of the sea and salt air, parts of this coastline have been carved and sculpted into somewhat of a natural skatepark.   To launch this season's Nature Calls apparel collection, Element team riders Jaakko Ojanen, Kukka Suvioja and Leon Charo-Tite travelled by land, air and sea with the Grey Skate Mag crew from London to make a skate edit that expresses the essence of what Nature Calls means. With the freedom to skate with whatever spots seemed possible, the team has put together another edit that defies conventions.  Watch ‘Strata’ here: https://lnkd.in/eYr28EPv Thumb photo: Henry Kingsford

As Element continues its partnerships with the great NGO’s like WeForest 🌿 and WWF, we want to take the occasion of today's @UN's #InternationalDayofForests to celebrate their projects around reforestation and forest protection around the world.   As we are well aware, making skateboards from wood has an impact on forests. So in working with WWF / WWF-France and WeForest 🌿, we are continually learning about the importance of protecting and conserving our forests and how important these ecosystems are to all lifeforms who depend on them, from plants and animals to humans beings. To learn more about what we are doing with our partners in regards to forest-minded initiatives, please visit our partners' websites and social media channels. Be sure to stay tuned regarding updates with the specific projects we are helping to support. Element presents "Nature Calls" Inspired by local adventures and the people who seek them out whether for pleasure or their profession, we created the Nature Calls collection. The collection is a mix of technical and comfortable pieces designed for living and exploring in nature, wherever you find it. Central to the launch, Element supported the production of a short film by UK-based photographer and filmmaker Percy Dean entitled "The Shepherdess". Percy had the chance to shine a light on the story of his friend Lois Pendlebury, originally from Bradford, England. After a career in skateboarding, Lois turned to becoming a shepherdess in the French Alps, where she and her dogs mind flocks of sheep in the high alpine, living one moment at a time in tune with nature. The Polo Ralph Lauren x Element Country Skate Camp   When 13 skaters from 10 different countries joined the Element pro team in Oregon, USA, what transpired was a week of real human exchange in nature. With the help of our partner skate shops, each shop was able to send a skater from their community to Seek Skate camp in the majestic Mt. Hood National Forest. During the subsequent days, friendships were forged and lasting memories made through a shared love of skateboarding and being outside. Despite coming from diverse backgrounds and not always sharing a common language, the unifying language and passion of skateboarding bonded this crew of amazing individuals. Element partners with WeForest    This year, Element became an official partner with WeForest 🌿 as a part of the brand’s participation with 1% for the Planet, donating one percent of the revenue from global skate hardgoods to NGO’s focused on the protection and regeneration of the world’s forests.    WeForest 🌿 is a leader in research driven climate solutions based on locally led reforestation projects. The Belgian based organization was founded in 2010 with the goal of empowering communities in areas of the world that are the most affected by deforestation.    The project Element is primarily supporting through its partnership with WeForest is their Miombo Belt Regeneration Program. Spanning across seven countries in central Africa, The Miombo belt is comprised of nearly 2.7 million square kilometers of sensitive ecosystems that support countless native species as well as upward of 65 million people.  By participating in some of their ongoing 6 projects in the region, Element’s donations have helped with the restoration of at least 12,5 hectares of degraded forests that will see at least 15,000 trees planted and grown.  Element is proud to be a part of this effort and the brand intends to grow this partnership further.    To learn more about the organizations that Element is supporting on our journey towards being an even more responsible member of our society, please visit:    https://lnkd.in/e3tbENfN https://www.weforest.org/ https://lnkd.in/dUi_qRM
