ITEN - Solid-state micro-batteries

Few days ago we had the pleasure to host Svein-Egil Nielsen, former CTO of Nordic Semiconductor at ITEN’s Office. Svein-Egil is well known in the microelectronics industry and has been an instrumental part of Nordics success story towards what it is today. Along his career he built tremendous experience and successes in the wide field of IoT.  Over two decades he defined and delivered market leading products and created worldwide business channels and partnerships.   Very good reasons to meeting with ITEN as we are sharing the same passion.   Our Executive team Vincent Cobee (CEO), Ian Cayrefourcq (CTO) and Axel Fischer (CCO) discussed opportunities of ITEN’s solid state micro batteries in a wide field of application opportunities enabled by IoT.   While the Internet of Things are already appearing in so many flavours and billions of devices, it is demanding for smaller, safer, rechargeable and even more advanced energy solutions than only traditional coin cells or super capacitors. Comparing the fast evolution of state-of-the-art semiconductors vs. micro energy and storage, it is showing a strong imbalance.     This is set to change with ITENs micro solid-state batteries addressing perfectly firstly the IoT markets like asset tracking, BLE beacon and wireless sensors in all its nuances. Combinations with energy harvesting technologies are further responding to CO2 emission reduction.
