McLeuker a republié ceci
Textile production contributes more to climate change than international aviation and shipping combined👕♻️ Meet McLeuker, which is fighting this problem. Consulting agency that helps fashion brands and suppliers shift to circular business models through the fashion supply chain. We were happy to chat with Qigen Lin, their Founder. 1️⃣Why did you start McLeuker? At McLeuker, we aim to do better for fashion if you know the dark side of the fashion industry, with huge overconsumption and production waste. Especially for the ultra-fast fashion now, like the platforms Shein and Temu, so we definitely can do something for them. Leuker comes from the Dutch word, which means nicer in person, in things. Mc=Mine. So here we are, good to climate, good to the people around us. 2️⃣What's the problem you're solving, and big goal? Problem: trying to solve the overconsumption of ultra-fast fashion into slow/quality/circular fashion by building awareness of the fast fashion waste problem and circular business models. Goal: making greenwashing brands into reality, more transparency of the brand's action and product traceability for new coming fashion brands and designers. 3️⃣What has been the biggest challenge, and how did you overcome it? Lacking industry resources, startup support and capital. We're still working on building more resources and industry authenticity via the industry events in Paris. I will go to textile expositions in Shanghai and Shenzhen next year to get closer to fashion brands and suppliers, perhaps some investors. 4️⃣What are resources/creators/podcasts you couldn't live without? Traceability: → Fairly Made® → Trace For Good CSRD: → Greenly | Certified B Corp → Carbonfact Resources: → Clear Fashion → Fashion for Good blog → Vogue's sustainability session → Fédération de la Mode Circulaire Questions?
