🇲🇼 We are thrilled to announce that, under EU funding, Seureca in consortium with ISL Ingénierie and Infraworks Development has been awarded a major water infrastructure project in Malawi. 💧⚡ Seureca will collaborate closely with its partners to oversee the construction of infrastructure designed to optimize #water supply to Liwonde and Bakala, providing safe drinking water to 100,000 people by 2027. The project also includes #energy recovery from the #hydroelectric power station in Zomba, the country's third-largest city. The facility has the potential to generate over 5 million kWh of energy annually. The contract is valued at around 1.7 million euros. The project’s investments will include the construction of a new water treatment plant, pumping facilities at Liwonde to deliver the treated water, water storage tanks, distribution networks and materials for house connections and communal water points in Liwonde and Balaka towns. The project also includes the #electricity generation at Zomba water treatment plant, and connection to the grid. 🔍 The project scope includes review of project design, tender documentation and construction supervision to improve water supply in Liwonde and Balaka. Our teams will deliver revised detailed #engineering design and tender documents, review #environmental and social impact assessment, develop resettlement action plans and assist the client during tendering. Additionally, Seureca will engage stakeholders and prepare a comprehensive project implementation plan.

Seureca, in consortium with DT Global, took the lead in organizing the Asian Development Bank's regional capacity building workshop: "Accelerating Investments for Plastic Circularity". ♻️ This two-day event took place on 26-27 June 2024 in Jakarta, Indonesia, and aimed to provide government officials from nine Asian countries with insights and strategies to navigate the financing landscape for #plastic circularity projects. In collaboration with the UNEP COBSEA, the workshop explored the critical role of governments in creating an enabling environment through policies, public investments, and catalyzing private sector financing at different scales to accelerate plastic #circularity. 💡 Through expert-led presentations, case studies, and group discussions, this comprehensive platform explored effective actions to significantly increase investments in plastic circularity, a pressing issue for the region. 🇦🇱 Albania's National Water Supply and Sanitation Sector Modernization Program aims to reduce #energy consumption by 25% over 20 years. As part of this initiative, Seureca with his Albanian partner Abkons, have been entrusted by the The World Bank to provide technical assistance to improve energy efficiency and promote renewable energy in 5 regional water utilities in the country. ⚡ Our teams will conduct #energy and #water audits to identify areas for enhancing electricity consumption efficiency of these utilities. We will also evaluate the potential use of renewable energy sources, such as ground-mounted and rooftop solar photovoltaic systems, water #turbine in the distribution network, #biogas production from wastewater treatment plant sludge digestion. A program of priority investments and new control schemes for drinking water networks will be drawn up. A total of 23 municipalities in the regions of Shkodër, Durrës, Elbasan, Fier and Vlorë will be covered. Our experts will conduct on-field hydraulic and electric measurement campaigns, identify energy savings, and propose an action plan for optimization recommendations. 📋 In addition to these efforts, the project will also focus on assessing the building's seismic performance and suggest rehabilitation, reinforcement, or retrofitting methods to enhance earthquake resistance, in accordance with current standards. 🌍 This year's #WorldEnvironmentDay focuses on the critical issues of land restoration, halting desertification, and building resilience to droughts. With unprecedented challenges due to rapid population growth, urbanization, and strains on essential resources and infrastructure, building #resilience is more important than ever. 💡 At Seureca, we are committed to supporting local authorities in planning and implementing sustainable infrastructure solutions to meet the needs of growing populations. Our expertise lies in designing and monitoring the construction of these infrastructures, as well as providing support for their operation and maintenance. 💧 Recently, we revised the #sanitation and drainage master plans for the cities of Lomé in Togo and Douala in Cameroon, ensuring that these rapidly growing urban centers have a comprehensive strategy for managing their #wastewater and #stormwater effectively. In the Ivory Coast, we studied and supervised the construction of the La Mé plant, which now serves over 2 million inhabitants of the city of Abidjan, providing essential wastewater treatment services to this densely populated area. 🇹🇷 Due to the geopolitical situation in the region, Turkey is hosting more than 3 million refugees, putting significant pressure on water supply, #wastewater and #waste management services. Under the European Union Facility for Refugees in Turkey project (FRIT II), Seureca was entrusted by the AFD - Agence Française de Développement to conduct a second-level monitoring mission to ensure that all the investment sub-projects meet the expected requirements in terms of quality, performance and safety. 🚰 Recently, Seureca teams carried out a site visit to assess the progress of the sub-projects, in particular the progress of the "Centrum" drinking #water project in Adiyaman. For an amount of over €21 million, the local water distribution network will be reinforced with the construction of a 10,000 m3 concrete reservoir and the installation of 550 km of polyethylene pipes.
