In France, our Recycling and Recovery team has developed a specific offer, helping customers manage invasive plant waste by ensuring it is collected and treated appropriately. 🌱 Controlling invasive alien species, which are spreading to the detriment of native species, is one of our commitments to nature. It has been identified as one of the causes of biodiversity loss, along with pollution, climate change, direct exploitation of organisms and changing use of the sea and land. Building on the success of our partnership with the UK's largest waste authority♻   We’re proud to announce that the Greater Manchester Combined Authority is extending recycling and waste contracts with SUEZ until 2034!   We have been working together with the GMCA since 2019, managing more than one million tonnes of waste each year for over one million households in 9 Greater Manchester boroughs.   With this contracts extension, SUEZ will continue this collaboration and put residents at the forefront of innovation in recycling and waste services.   “This new success underlines SUEZ’s commitment to creating economic and social value for our customers and the communities where we operate, through our innovative and resilient solutions.” Sabrina Soussan

70 years of SUEZ in Bilbao 🎉 Last month, the SUEZ Engineering and Construction (E&C) leadership team, led by Jörg Linsenmaier, attended the 70th anniversary celebrations of SUEZ in Bilbao. The perfect opportunity to: • host their bi-annual global webcast, showcasing E&C's recent successes and the opportunities and challenges ahead. • listen to Alex Txikon, a renowned Spanish mountaineer, share his experiences of climbing the world's highest peaks over 8,000 metres in an inspiring talk! As part of the SUEZ Engineering & Construction family, the Bilbao office has extensive experience in engineering, procurement and construction on many SUEZ projects. Here's to many more years of success!

Did you know businesses and professionals in Lyon can now benefit from cardboard collection service with a cargo bike?🚲 Over the past few months, the SUEZ and TOUTENVELO teams have collected more than 100 tonnes of cardboard from 36 professionals, mainly from hotels, cafés, restaurants, shops and small businesses ✅. The collected cardboard is taken to dedicated collection points before being transported to paper mills to be recycled into new cardboard boxes 📦 This initiative has already helped avoid the equivalent of 1 tonne of CO2 emissions 🌍, fitting perfectly with the metropolitan approach of Low Emission Zones (LEZ) and our commitment to sustainable development & the promotion of cycling 🤝 ✅ Ville de Lyon stands out as an environmentally friendly city, recently recognised by the European Commission among the 100 neutral cities planned by 2030. The city is also involved in the LEAD project, alongside five other major European cities - Madrid, The Hague, Budapest, Oslo, and Porto - aiming to develop urban logistics networks. ♻️ Since 2016, companies generating more than 1,100 litres of waste per site per week are required to sort five waste streams. The AGEC Law (Anti-Waste for a Circular Economy Law), which came into effect on 16th July 2021, encourages waste reduction and sorting at the source. In Manchester, the Renew Hub is the UK's largest recycling centre and has already given a second life to more than 130,000 items. #CreatingCyclesForLife SUEZ UK

Preserving nature wherever we operate is a key pillar of our sustainable development roadmap. In the UK, for example, our teams have carried out over 300 actions to improve biodiversity at our waste management sites in 2023 alone, such as planting trees and hedgerows 🌳 or installing nesting boxes for birds, bats or owls 🐦🦇🦉. In Poland, SUEZ consolidates its position as a major player in the European market for renewable energy from waste.   SUEZ becomes a shareholder in ARA Cursus alongside Eiffel Investment Group and Bourgogne, acquiring a majority stake in the company, which develops and operates anaerobic digestion plants for biogas.   ARA has developed a portfolio of 9 agricultural biogas projects in the country, one of which is already operational. Each project has a renewable energy capacity of 1 MW.   With the combined production of renewable energy and biofertiliser, ARA's biogas plants will contribute to Poland's low-carbon energy transition and circular economy.
