🤝Today, our #Social team is meeting with The Consumer Goods Forum (#CGF) to take a significant step in the Sustainability #SupplyChain Initiative (#SSCI) Benchmark process: the self-assessment related to amfori BSCI, following the SSCI methodology. 🌍 At the end of 2023, amfori BSCI applied for SSCI benchmarking. Since then, our dedicated social #sustainability experts have been working on the self-assessment. Today's meeting is an important opportunity to review and refine this initial self-assessment with the benchmark leader for assessment of #amforiBSCI, ensuring we uphold the highest standards of sustainability. 📈The SSCI Benchmark is a rigorous process that can officially recognise that amfori BSCI meets key sustainability criteria and implements effective verification practices. This comprehensive evaluation includes a self-assessment, an independent expert review, office visits, and public consultation. 🗣️ Linda Kromjong, President of amfori, said: "As a leading business association for sustainable trade, we must lead by example to continue supporting companies across the globe to operate successful and responsible businesses the most efficient way. Collaborations with organisations such as the Consumer Goods Forum (CGF) are crucial in this endeavour. For this reason, we are dedicated to working closely with The Consumer Goods Forum’s Sustainable Supply Chain Initiative." It’s been an exciting few weeks in Chicago recently, starting with a field visit with Fran Krohn, Alison Murphy and Jodi Majewski from our US expert team last month. It was inspiring to see the team in action, meet some of our experts on the ground, and see first-hand the trusted relationships which are key to us delivering better everyday health for our consumers. Earlier this month, I was also privileged to join Frans Muller, Ayla ZIZ and Sharon Bligh on the ‘Inspiring Healthier Ways of Life’ panel at The Consumer Goods Forum Global Summit. There is a real opportunity for the consumer goods industry to come together to scale for impact on preventative health, so it was a valuable discussion about some of the ways manufacturers and retailers can support this in practice.
