💡 "The key to embracing the challenges of our transition to sustainable energy lies in our perception. Just as the electricity poles of the 19th century were a visible symbol of progress, so too should batteries be in the 21st. By making this critical technology a tangible part of our lives, we can not only promote understanding and appreciation but also inspire a collective demand for a greener, more sustainable world" 🔋 As cities electrify, batteries play an increasingly important role in our daily lives. But how can we ensure that this technological shift truly benefits everyone and contributes to an equitable future? This is the question answered by Gábor Csapó in this essay for Urban AI. 🔎 Have a look! https://lnkd.in/eVbxSF26

💡 "At the heart of GovAI’s mission is to ensure that AI technologies are implemented in a way that upholds ethical standards, protects privacy, and promotes equity and fairness in decision-making processes. The Coalition has created a suite of AI policy templates and knowledge-sharing tools that outline ethical principles and guidelines government agencies should follow when deploying AI technologies.” 🏙️ A few weeks ago we had the great pleasure of welcoming Emily Royall, Albert Gehami, Jaime Wascalus, Jonathan Behnke and Jiri Rutner for an Urban AI Conversation dedicated to the GovAI Coalition. 🔎 More info about this conversation is available in this article. 💡 A Workshop on AI and Urban Planning As part of our Consulting activity, we had the great pleasure of organizing an in-person workshop for Le Mans Ville et Métropole and Cénovia. This workshop explored the transformative potential of AI in urban planning and focused on three trends: ➡️ AI for Participatory Urban Planning ➡️ AI for Urban Modeling ➡️ Data-driven Urban Planning 🏙️ A highlight of the workshop was an ideation session during which participants built their own AI projects tailored to their urban planning needs, based on the knowledge and insights we presented. Thanks to all participants for their valuable contributions and dynamic engagement!

💡 "The role of AI would be the one to collaborate with all the stakeholders playing a role in this: occupiers and owners, local authorities and insurers, banks, and other investors. [...] Together with technological solutions, a consolidated approach to policies at the local level can support a prompt reaction to disruptive climate hazards." 🏙️ In this contribution, Flaminia Borelli, ESG Consultant, Expert at Urban AI, details how AI can help European Cities adapt to Climate Change. 🔎 Have a look! https://lnkd.in/e5mjEx_D

💡 "A significant limitation of current large language models (LLMs) is their inability to interpret and analyze maps and spatial data formats. Beyond processing textual descriptions of zoning categories and overlays, a crucial component of zoning acquisition involves determining the specific zoning designation and applicable overlays for individual parcels. This determination often relies on visual examination of maps containing multiple vector layers, typically provided in formats such as shapefiles or similar geospatial data representations." 🏙️ In this contribution, Federico J. Fernandez, CEO of URBANLY, details the benefits and limitations of generative AI for zoning acquisition. 🔎 Have a look! https://lnkd.in/eKKrVfhA
