    In an ever changing environment companies have to cope with shorter product cycles and high demand for customization especially in the software industry. Therefore the companies have to stay flexible in order to allow these changes, but this external flexibility affects the internal work environment and therewith the employees. The study examines how change is enabling and constraining the employee’s working life at our case company. Semi-structured interviews conducted with employees working at the case company are the basis of the research. The findings are related to existing literature on organizational theory on structure and on change management. The reviewed literature enables us to categorize the change that is going on and to understand the different realities described by the employees to discover how change is affecting their working life.
