John Peterson is Head of Division for Cross Border and International Taxation (CBI) at the OECD. CBI is a division within the Centre for Tax Policy and Administration (CTPA) directorate that brings together the main international corporate tax policy making functions within the OECD. John leads the teams responsible for Transfer Pricing (WP6) , the Taxation of the Digital Economy (TFDE) and the Global Minimum Tax (WP11) as well as the work undertaken by the Forum on Harmful Tax Practices (FHTP). John joined the OECD in 2013 (at the beginning of the BEPS project) where he worked with WP11 to develop rules on Neutralizing Hybrid and Branch Mismatch Arrangements. He was also responsible for drafting the Mandatory Disclosure of CRS Avoidance Arrangements and most recently the work on the design of the Global Minimum Tax. Prior to joining the OECD, John was a tax partner at Minter Ellison Rudd Watts. John has LLM from NYU and a BCL from Oxford University and Masters Degree in Philosophy from Victoria University of Wellington. He has previously worked as a tax lawyer in New York, London and New Zealand.
