Here's how much money the 2024 World Series of Poker Main Event winners are taking home

For the second straight year, the World Series of Poker main event will have a record number of players, with 10,112 entries this summer being 69 more than the amount of participants in 2023.

More players doesn’t mean a larger jackpot in 2024, though, as the WSOP will distribute the wealth a little more evenly this year. First place is still set to take home a massive eight-figure payout at $10,000,000, but that number is down from last year’s record $12.1M jackpot.

And though the gap between first and second place is down, second place is also taking home less, with the runner-up payout dropping from $6,500,00 to $6,000,000. Third through fifth place will make the same amount as last year, and everyone after that will make more, with the sixth-place payment up to $2 million and ninth place up to $1 million.

The prize pool in total is up to a record $94,041,600 this year, with 1,517 players taking home a piece of the pie.
