Slate City Omegaverse #3

Knot for a Moment

Rate this book
Five years ago I found my mate… and he has no idea.

I’ve spent my entire life doing two things: training to be a ballet dancer, and longing for a scent-match. My feet bled for one, and my heart bled for the other.

Then my first heat hit, and my deepest dream became my darkest secret.

I scent-matched with my best friend, and ran.

It’s been five years since I last saw him—happily in someone else’s arms—and I couldn’t bear to break his heart.

But that was before. Before he joined my dance company, anger and grief in his eyes. Before I matched with the rest of his pack, whose scents drive me to the best kind of madness. Before I begged for forgiveness, even if I can never forgive myself.

But the more time I spend with them, the more I see the future I always wanted. A love that sweeps me away, keeps me safe, and never lets me go.

Every day, I fall deeper, and as I do, the more they see the truth: No matter how long it’s been, I never gave up on that dream. Knot for a moment.

So.

Whatjusthappened—

We have the third and perhaps final installment of the Slate City books, a “steamy” 🙄 RH “romance” series that is much more erotic romance, and leaning heavy on the erotica.

Like the other books, we’re dropped into our FMC’s world and hardly receive much of an answer for why the FMC has certain friends. Sure, they banter, but because their answer is for the FMC to fuck, I can’t understand if they’re actual friends or superficial “work” friends.

They’re superficial “work” friends.

Our FMC Sloane is the new primary ballerina for her company, the neglected FWB of the Big Bad Craig, and a fill-in gogo girl at a club that will never be mentioned again.

In the day time, she’s just a ballerina. Just a normal girl with a normal life.

No one knows that she has a secret.

🐞🐈‍⬛

PFFFFFFFFFFFFT

No, the secret is that Sloane scent-matched with her bestie/Alpha/fellow dancer Asher five years ago. While he was kissing another girl.

😬

So five years later and she’s resigned herself to vibrators and villainous men. But who woulda think Asher would be the newest dancer of her ballet? AND that one of his packmates would be running BTS as well?

(I did. I knew that.)

What’s on the tin of this book resolves quickly. Asher’s pissed, but not really, and he and Sloane are undulating to their passion. Sloane explores erotic ventures with her new Alphas. The romantic chemistry was hardly there outside of her and Asher, maybe. I know all the MCs cared for each other, but because erotica was the primary relationship and romantic second, I questioned the validity of their relationship.

This book honestly might’ve worked better if Asher and Sloane alone had their own monogamous relationship. I would’ve liked seeing Roman, Jace, and Gabriel with their own omegas, honestly. I think each one deserved their own story and romance. I wasn’t really sold that Sloane was the omega they needed romantically and personally?

The thing about the omegaverse dynamic is that it’s both “found family” and a woman at the focus and worship of several men. And while this is 🌈escapism🌈, that doesn’t mean we should discount actual viable chemistry.

For example, I felt that Roman and Sloane were nice platonically and erotically, but romantically? I think it would’ve been fascinating for Roman to meet an omega who could’ve been selectively mute or someone who used alternate forms of communications, and we could’ve explored the different forms of communications.

For Gabriel and how calm he keeps himself, I would’ve liked to see him with an omega who gets under his skin. And enemies to lovers. An omega who makes him slip up, and the omega is proud of that and much more of a dangerous risk taker. Gabriel learns when he can show his temper healthily and his omega learns when to be calm.

I truly don’t know about Jace. He felt so added into a back that I forgot about him other than him having a baby girl kink.

Anyways, the plot persists. Craig and the new director Ian are the antagonists who are hyperfocused on Sloane for not bending to their manipulation. Sloane sees little reason to block Craig, who continues text-bombing her. And, of course, he slips through the cracks, violating his restraining order, to come for her. Ian gets his when it’s revealed the unethical behavior he treated previous studios.

And all’s shell that ends shell.

🫥

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

I dunno. This just wasn’t for me. RH romances are normally hit or miss for me because they are erotica leaning and fast-track it. Taking the time to build up chemistry is normally lost into instalust and biology 🤢 which can be AMAZINGLY DONE and frankly, muy caliente to the max 🥵. And in that, it can leave us to having an external plot with no third act break up. 👏🏾👏🏾

BUTT 🍑

I just wasn’t bought and sold.

I’m happy the MCs communicated. But somehow, their ease of communication is the reason I couldn’t understand their relationships. They got each other without any growing pains, without anything really. It was easy. Which, again, can be fine. But I didn’t understand why it was so easy for them considering all of them very little had much in common.

MK.

👍🏾

Just a 3 ⭐️ read. I’ll reread for the smut but not for the characters. This is disappointing. I really did enjoy Esme’s book the best. But all the books suffered from us being handfisted side characters with little understanding as to why they have the relationship they have with the MC, and then relied on instalust to convey romance when instalust can ignite romance, but it doesn’t always.

Kissing Asher was like dancing a tango. Slow and smooth, filled with passion you knew was leading somewhere inevitable. Following the lead and not caring where it went because it was all pleasure.

I love sweet Omegaverse reads, and this one is a perfect example of one with scent matching, a super-supportive pack, and HEAs - even if an obsessed psycho of an ex threatens Sloane’s HEA with her perfect pack. That bit of danger gave a bit of darkness to an otherwise sugary story.

I adored Sloane and her Alphas. There is an instant connection once they discover they are scent matches (dubbed scent-sympathy in this omegaverse world). However, they still work on building relationships outside the primal drive to finalize their bonds. The Alphas assume the touch-her-and-die roles as they protect Sloane from her “ex” and a director with a grudge, but they still give her the freedom to fight her battles. She’s allowed to be soft and firm in equal measure.

The romance between Sloane and her mates is fast-burn (though they do show restraint not often found in these situations of scent matching) and very spicy! Good lord, is there a lot of spice! Her Alphas are rough, soft, dominant, and have the dirtiest mouths with abundant Good Girls. There are multiple MF and group scenes with hole stuffing (DP, DVP, etc.).

I highly recommend this sweet, contemporary omegaverse.

Genre: Contemporary Omegaverse
Tropes/Features: second chance, scent matches, all-in MMCs, dancers, artist, disability rep, pierced peen, size difference, group scenes, DVP, DP, ex drama (psycho obsessed “ex”)
Narrator: Multiple 1st Person POV
Relationship Type: Why choose – MFMMM, fast-burn, very spicy
Book Type/Ending: Standalone (with crossover characters in Slate City universe), HEA
TW/CW: Available on website or by scanning QR code in Author’s note

I am loving these Slate City omegaverse novels written by this author. I enjoy the characters, which is important for me, but I also really like the storylines. This one is not my favorite of the three, but still great.

This is an RH omegaverse. I didn’t dislike it, but it wasn’t really for me. Many people who like the OV genre would like it. The writing is fine, the characters are likeable, there’s a lot of spice. It’s got “cozy” vibes – the heroine meets the heroes, and they instantly start taking care of her.

The plot: the heroine (who's in her late 20s, I think) is an omega ballet dancer, who discovers her fated mates, a pack of 4 alphas. There’s a bit of plot conflict, in the form of her having a crazy ex. And, the ballet company she works at has an evil creative director. Otherwise, that's basically it.

There’s no real relationship development with her and the guys. Even as she’s sleeping with them for the first time, she acknowledges that she barely knows them. But, they instantly act all loving. I get why some people enjoy this type of story. But it's boring, to me. The relationship has no real tension, no journey that it’s going on. The instant the heroine meets the heroes, they’re cuddling her.

I understand that this is a sweet book, so I didn’t expect it to be “enemies to lovers,” or have intense angst. But there’s still a lot of potential light conflict and angst that you can do, while keeping the overall tone cozy! Every time this story had the opportunity to do that, it didn’t take it.

For example, one of the heroes doesn’t talk much, and has trouble connecting with people because of that – I thought that was setting it up for him to be distant from the heroine, and for them to have to work through that. (He wouldn’t need to be hateful towards her, just distant). But, nope! He’s pretty chatty and fine around her. She instantly loves him, and isn't at all wary. And, when he later tells her about his issues with talking, it’s fine, and there’s nothing for them to work through.

For another one of the heroes, he used to be friends with the heroine, but 5 years ago, after she realized that she was his fated mate, she ran away and ditched him – because she saw him with his girlfriend (at the time) and didn’t want to ruin his happiness, or risk him reacting with disappointment (in case he liked his girlfriend more). This could have been an interesting light angst for them to work through! But nope! It’s over and done with after 1 short conversation scene.

Again, a story does NOT need to be dark, or have an “enemies to lovers” dynamic, in order for the relationship to have some tension. A sense that it has movement. A sense that it's a story, and not just "Okay, here it is! They're together!" But, this book wasn’t willing to go there.

Like for example, Burn is a book that hits some similar buttons - in the sense that the hero is all-in on the heroine right away. But, that book is less boring to me because they still have some light tension to work through - the hero is controlling, the heroine doesn't like to be controlled. That book still hits the spot if you're in the mood for a story where a hero instantly wants to take care of the heroine, and there's no heavy angst. But it still has a plot, and movement to the relationship.

There’s a lot of poorly written shit in the Omegaverse genre. This book is still quite good, compared to most of it. But in order for me to give in more than 3 stars, I need the relationship to have more substance. But, if you don’t mind insta-love vibes, and you want a cozy read, you’d probably like this.

It's finally here! Knot For A Moment, the 3rd book in the Slate City Omegaverse.
🩰
Sloane has worked her whole life to become a ballet dancer while longing for another dream, having a scent match. When her first heat hits, she scent matches her best friend. What does she do? She runs. Now it's five years later, and Asher is in her dance company. Sloane can't hide anymore. Especially not when she also scent matches with his whole pack.
🍪
Devyn Sinclair never misses. If I'm in need of a spicy pick-me-up, her Slate City series is always up to the task. Knot For A Moment is no exception. If anything, it might be taking over top spot for me in the series. Sloane is wonderful and so relatable, the angst is outside the pack, and there were some genuinely wonderful moments of growth. Then you add Sloane's Alphas, an amazing cast of side characters, and the Center Stage-esque vibes, I was hooked instantly.
🎶
All of the Alphas are delicious in this book, and I swear their scents were made for me, but Roman and Gabriel stole the whole fvcķińg show babes. Seriously. Gabriel's daddy dom vibes with the hidden nerdy side? Perfection. And the way he TOOK THAT PHONE CALL??? IYKYK. 🥵 And then sweet baby Roman. I say sweet baby like he's not a giant, tattooed, beast of a man, but he needs to be protected at all costs. The epitome of the strong and silent type, he has a learning disability that makes talking difficult. But Roman most definitely doesn't need words to show Sloane how much he wants and loves her. Plus, his predilection for sleepy time fun wins him all the points. Or did he win those with Mango? HE GETS ALL THE POINTS OK.
🤣
Yeah. So maybe I liked this book alot lol. I so very much appreciate the ARC opportunity and I hope you guys give Sloane and her men the read they deserve. If you need more encouragement, here's some things to expect:
◇D/s
◇Sømnøphīlīa
◇All the dirty talk.
◇Men who love to eat.
◇So many surprises and spoiling.
◇Fun in public.
◇O Denial
◇Toys are team players.
◇Spanking

Ok, here is the thing.

This is a hmm nice book... Or good. It's in the right genres I wanted and there was a story or many involved as well as smut, so I mean.. Normally I would give it four or five stars...and I mean, I think you SHOULD read it... I just, idk.

First, the book was all over the place. It was like they, the author, had many ideas for the plot of several books, and didn't have time to write many novels so just made all the plots tie together somehow and slapped it into one novel....

I also think they killed off a character that should have at least had some "screen time", since they were this huge part of their lives... So I felt ripped off of seeing more of that character.

I'm trying to word this so I don't have to mark it as A spoiler. Lol.

All, it FELT like there was supposed to be more to the story regarding the grandmother and parents. They hinted at it so much, it feels like a cliffhanger.

And the non discussion of children? Don't MOST alpha and omega packs want kids? Or at least have discussions about families? Not just what happened in this book?

This book has left so much open in the end and so much left that COULD have been but wasn't and so much that was that shouldn't have been.

If you get what I'm saying, then you are.a.very avid reader lol!

I just feel disappointed. And it had an ok start. Enough to make.me.read the full story... But idk if I am going to read more of this series when it's released...because the above mentioned issues I had, were also in the other books but, I overlooked them, thinking it could only get better...right? Nope.

Anyway, I'm off to find my next read. Wish me luck.

Maybe I'll try to hunt down a vampy, possessive, rh, fated mate book...

These are definitely getting spicier as they go. But the reasoning behind the problems is still not strong enough. It bothers me that the drama is so weak and basically makes the FML look really dumb. Like so dumb. And the villains are also very weak characters. Why do they do anything? No one knows. The story tries to tell you but it’s so dumb. But then again they might just be crazy.

Again, these are still very good. And I will continue reading any future books in this series just don’t expect any of the drama to be reasonable. But then again when are emotions reasonable. I can tell you the spice level is super high. So we get a lot of that.

I absolutely love this series. I think the first one (Knot Your Damn Omega) is still my favourite but I really enjoyed this one. If you are going to read one omegaverse series ever it should be this one.

I love Sloane, Jace, Gabriel, Roman and Asher so much, but with everything going on in the plot I kept forgetting one of them. Never the same one though, they all got a turn. I feel like it would have been better with just three of the guys or one less plot line.

There was a lot going on. That’s one of the things I love about this series. So much happening and everything ends up where it should and how it should (for the most part). But this time it was a bit too much. I got lost in the story. I still loved it but that is my one critique.

I loved seeing all the characters for the last two books and meeting Sloane’s grandma, who is a complete icon and if Devyn wants to right her story at some point I won’t object. I also love all of Sloane’s friends and I really want more of them. Dion, Claire and all the others are so great!

Thank you so much Devyn for the ARC!

Knot for a Moment is the third book in the Slate City Omegaverse series, which is ostensibly a series of standalone novels set in the same universe and loosely interconnected (the omegas that star in each book are close friends who went to school together), but I should warn you that as of this entry into the series it’s honestly kind of hard to keep track of who’s who unless you’ve read the previous two titles in the series (don’t worry, they’re fabulous).

I was automatically going to enjoy this book because there were ballerinas in it. It’s one of my biggest book weaknesses. I was already a fan of Devyn Sinclair’s writing, and then she went and wrote a why choose omegaverse romance with ballerinas in it. I almost want to send her a present just for that alone, because omegaverse plus ballerinas is a pretty sweet deal for me.

It helps that the plot is actually really good: an alpha who is a little unhinged and stalkerish to the omega, a ballet artistic director who’s toxic to just about everyone, an omega ballerina FMC who has been sad and alone for too long, and four alphas who scent-match to her and know right away they will give her the world if they can.

Speaking of alphas: BOY HOWDY. I need to get myself a Roman. The spicy scenes with Roman in them in this book were my favorite. I love all the alphas, but Roman was definitely my favorite.

Sloane, our FMC, is a genuinely sweet but bratty omega. She’s determined and driven in her dance career and doesn’t live too much in the past. She values her friendships and loves her grandma. When she meets her alphas she immediately becomes as fiercely protective of them as they are of her, and that symbiotic hurt/comfort loop that comes with some of the best omegaverse romances comes into play and I love it. When the omega is hurting they care for her. When one of her alphas is hurting, she cares for him.

Devyn Sinclair has done an incredible job yet again.

I was provided a copy of this title by the author. All thoughts, opinions, views, and ideas expressed herein are mine and mine alone. Thank you.

Ballet OV in Slate City - yes please!

I did not want this book to end! I read this book as slow as possible because from Chapter 1 I knew I wasn't going to get enough of it. I loved the story - it was so sweet and steamy and freaking adorable. I loved the characters - Sloane was sweet and strong but spent way too much time in her head. Her Alphas were perfection! From Ash who was her best friend to Gabriel who was her most dominant Alpha to Jace who was sweet to Roman who I adored and was her quiet place. Honestly I just spent this entire book in my feelings adoring the way they all clicked and loved each other. I really enjoyed the cameos and the friendship between the omegas but I lived for the interactions between Sloane and her pack. And I was right by the last few chapters I was dreading that this book was going to end because I wanted more but it was a perfect ending for the perfect story.

This story is the perfect combination of sweet and diiiiiirty 🥵 Sloane has appeared in the previous Slate City books, and she’s always stood out as a witty, kind, and ride-or-die friend. It was absolutely lovely getting to know her better through her own POV. Her loyalty to her loved ones and her fellow dancers is admirable, as is her work ethic and commitment to doing her absolute best.

Her alphas are individuals with unique personalities (and k!nx 😘) who also stand out for many of the same reasons that Sloane does. I loved seeing them grow together, even after the insta-love beginnings. They still had hurdles to get past and had to learn to navigate those together. This book pulls on your heartstrings in more than one way, so get those tissues out!

The spice level is magnificent. There are some… experiences… that I don’t recall having read in any other books before and they were eye-opening 👀

I am excited to see what comes next, particularly if we get anymore Slate City stories 💜

This is such a sweet book! I instantly loved it and couldn't put it down. This book is filled with a little heart ache that will be make you cry but it's also filled with love and laughter and I truly loved this book so much!

Sloane, what a beautiful soul. I'm so glad she finally got her book. She is amazing. I love her personality, she is kind and caring but she has spirit and we definitely saw that on more than one occasion.

Asher, Jace, Gabriel and Roman are I think some of my favourite alpha's. They are so attentive to Sloane and her needs. They are also just so friendly, happy and just so alpha, I love it. They all give her something different and it's so beautiful. Yes it sucks that Sloane and Asher had to go through it in the past but I'm so glad that they did find each other again. I think my favourite is Roman. Yes, he is quiet but who cares? The way he loves Sloane is lovely and I'm so glad they found each other. They all truly deserve to be happy and Sloane is perfect for them in every way.

However, there are outside forces causing many problems for these beautiful people and I really hope that they can be stopped before it's too late...

Please read this book! It's so sweet but also really funny and just such an amazing read.

Thank you so much to Devyn and the wonderful team at Chaotic Creatives for giving me the chance to ARC read this book. I really appreciate it. All opinions are honest and my own 🩷🩷🩷

DNF @ 30%.

I can usually forgive a lot when reading an omegaverse reverse harem (it scratches a very particular itch), but I couldn’t get into this. The angsty set up was really thin — like, so thin the characters got over it after a 2 minute conversation. And all the villain-y characters were a bit cartoon-ish. I am curious about where the story will go but not enough to keep reading right now — might pick this up again later if I can’t get past the curiosity.

I received an e-arc of Knot for a Moment for review. This has in no way influenced my thoughts and feelings about this book.

I've been really omegaverse the last year or so, and when I started this series earlier this year I knew I was going to love it. So I jumped at the chance to read Knot for a Moment by Devyn Sinclair early. This is the third book in the Slate City Omegaverse series and I've been wanting this book for a while.

Knot for a Moment is full of emotion, second chances and hot and steamy scenes. From the start of this one, I knew that we were in for a ride. It's one of those omegaverse books that has a little bit of everything. We have our omega who are craving a pack, we have the Alpha who don't feel fully complete yet and we have complicated relationships that need to be sorted. It's sweet, and full of dirty talk and then you throw in some high-intensity scenes and you have a fantastic book.
Knot for a Moment follows Sloane our omega, Principal Dancer at her ballet school, and the one that got away. Sloane knows who her omega is, but something happened and she had to let him go, knowing it would tear her apart. What she didn't expect was to see him again. And what she didn't expect to follow was a pack.

Asher is the one who got away. He is a fellow dancer and when he returns, he isn't just the alpha that she wants but her scent match. They have a lot of history together and a lot of unresolved issues. But they are also made for each other. They fit each other well, and from the start, we can see how much they care about one another. But Asher has a pack of his own, the thing that they don't all have is an Omega and when Sloane scent matches them all, they know that they are made for another one.

I didn't love how quickly things moved between Sloane and Asher. They have this complex history and I would have loved them to talk even a little more because they became hot and sweaty. This really wasn't a massive deal and didn't affect my enjoyment of the book.
We can't forget about the other Alphas now, can we? Gabriel, Roman and Jace are the 3 Alpahas that complete the pack along with Sloane and Asher. Each of her men and different but they complete her. They are all there in different ways. Whether it's caring for her after she comes home from dance, or helping her during her heat. They are the perfect combo of being gentlemen and caring for her, and then all of them having their kinks and treating Sloane like the omega she is.

Another thing was, I wished there was more dancing. At the start, we got a good chunk of it and then I felt that it went to the background. I love books where there is some sort of arts background. Whether it's dance or music, it makes me love a book. And I wish there was more of it in Knot for a Moment. Again it didn't affect my enjoyment of the book, so much but I would have liked the book even more if there was more of a balance.

I really enjoyed Devlyn Sinclair's writing quite a lot, it's just really easy to read and so easy to fall into. This book is the perfect combination of being intense with high stakes to being soft and calm. I love that we get to see Sloane be an omega, but also she isn't treated like she always needs to be protected. I also think that each of the alphas had a good spotlight on them. It just made for a fantastic book. Sometimes I feel that in why choose, someone gets left behind and I didn't feel that here.

Overall, I really enjoyed reading Knot for a Moment by Devyn Sinclair. It was sexy, and sweet plus kept me wanting more. Sloane and her men are perfect for each other, and I cannot wait to see what their future holds. This is the perfect addition to the Slate City Omegaverse series and I'm so excited to see whose pack we will be seeing next. If you are looking for an omegaverse series that is both sweet with high-stakes, then this one might just be for you.

In the aftermath of her first heat Sloane realised her best friend was a scent match, but seeing him in someone else’s arms had her running. Five years later, his pack joins her dance company and she scent matches with them too, can he forgive her for disappearing? So they can finally be the future she always dreamed of.

I knew I loved this book from the moment I read the dedication, I had no doubts that this book was for me and I wasn’t wrong because by the end I’d swooned so much for these men that I think my heart doubled in size.

The blurb mentions the kind of love that sweeps you away, and I think that’s the perfect way to describe the feels this book created in me, I feel totally swept away by everything from (ballet dancing) bad boys on motorcycles to the sleepy morning frucks, in fact this was so sweet (and SOOO steamy 🥵) that I felt like I was glowing while reading.

All of the guys brought the heat, like mind melting dirty talk, but Gabriel hit different he was a whirlwind of fire 🔥🔥 (I didn’t know removing a watch could be my boiling point)

This was the first book I read from the Slate City world and this one was more than enough to convince me that I need to read the first two in the series.

The only reason I didn't do five stars is because it felt like there was sooo much drama between Craig and Ian but then the conclusion for BOTH situations was soooo anticlimactic.

The smut is good, the overall plot was decent. The characters lacked a bit of development in my opinion. But it is a decent omegaverse.

Five years ago Sloane found her scent match, unfortunately it was after he seemed to have found someone else that made him happy. Before he could realize who Sloane was to him, she ran. Now it's 5 years later and they both end up at the same Dance Company. Where most of his pack works at as well. Asher is a fellow dancer, Gabriel the new executive director of the company, Jace a physio. There is also Roman who doesn't work for the company itself but is a well known sculptor. And they are all her scent matches. With no where to go she has no choice but to face them and her decisions. Finding out what happened all those years ago Asher is determined to not let the past effect their future. Unfortunately Ian, the new artistic director is determined to push the company to the limit. Forcing Sloane and the pack have to wait to really get to know each other how they normally would. But when Sloane's ex Craig becomes increasingly obsessed with her and the pack deems her in danger, she ends up moving in with the pack. Dealing with her ex and the new artistic director isn't easy, but thanks to her new pack she manages to pull through. Going as far as to perform despite starting her heat. But once they get through that they still have a stalker ex, and a difficult director to deal with.

Knot For A Moment is a part of the Slate City Omegaverse Series. It is a why choose, second chance, contemporary, dance, omegaverse romance with possessive alphas, touch her and die vibes, and a scent sympathetic pack and their omega.

Gabriel, Ash, Jace, Roman, and Sloane are all incredible characters. I loved all their personalities and the guys protectiveness/possessiveness of Sloane. The character and relationship development are awesome, as are the world building, storytelling, storyline, flow, and pace.

I loved that Sloane and Ash have a shared history/backstory. I enjoyed the addition of Craig’s character and the turmoil and intrigue that he brings to the story. I also loved that the standalones in this series are interconnected. I loved seeing characters from the previous books popping in and seeing how they add to the current story. You do not have to have read the previous books to understand this one, but I do recommend them, as they are fantastic reads.

Another great story in the Slate City series. They are all stand-alone with different characters and characters from other books. What’s a girl to do when she finds her scent match? Run away because it’s your best friend. You have always wanted to be a ballerina. Now you are and don’t want to give it up. Next thing you know your best friend is now apart of your dance company. Will he forgive you? Now your Also a scent match with the rest of this pack. Time to find your HEA and hope it doesn’t cost you much.

This was a sweet omegaverse story. Sloane knew who she was fated to years earlier, but chose to not pursue a relationship. That is, until she sees him again, when they have to work on an upcoming ballet together.

Although I liked this story, it was a little long for what it was. It felt as though they were all together and happy pretty early on in the book. There was a little conflict outside of their group that was pretty easily resolved, but within the pack itself it was smooth sailing from the start. I like a little drama with all the sweetness.

I enjoyed seeing the other characters from the series in this one. I liked how their stories all linked together. Sloane's grandmother was a fun character, too!

This was an easy read, another good addition to the series.

3.5 rounded up. This went kind of the way most books have been going for me lately, so I don’t know if it’s the book or me. Just wasn’t super interested after about half way. The relationships fell into place too easily. I liked the characters, the story, the writing, and the flow. I just wish the relationships wouldn’t have fallen into place with little effort. Too insta love.

I will say tho that I had no idea what was going on with the two antagonists until the end. It was clever and made sense and stayed a mystery the entirety of the book. I had an idea of what the motives could have been, but I was wrong.

I have been looking forward to Sloan’s story for a while and it didn’t disappoint. I love books about ballet dancers, probably because I have no dancing ability myself 😁. All Sloan’s alphas were amazing and the spice was straight up 🔥
