Confusión de confusiones constituye un extraordinario y entretenido fresco sobre el funcionamiento de la bolsa y las costumbres de la época, mostrándonos que poco o nada ha cambiado desde entonces. En esta edición lo presentamos con un breve comentario introductorio y algunas interesantes notas de carácter técnico a cargo de Antonio Envid, economista y hombre de letras, que hacen de esta maravilla literaria del Siglo de Oro español una narración aún más didáctica y entretenida, si cabe.

Joseph Penso de la Vega, best known as Joseph de la Vega (1650-1692) was a successful Jewish poet, merchant and philanthropist residing in 17th century Amsterdam.
He became an overnight success and icon of sorts for his masterpiece, 'Confusion of Confusions' the oldest book ever written on the stock exchange business.
It's written as a dialogue that takes place between two individuals 'The Investor' and the 'Layman'. De La Vega, came up with 4 basic rules for the share market that still hold sway even to this day: -
1st Rule - On Speculation - Never advise anyone to buy or sell shares, where guessing correctly is a form of witchcraft, counsel cannot be put on airs
2nd Rule - Accept both your profits and regrets - Best to seize what comes in, and not expect your good fortune to continue
3rd rule - Profit in the share market is a goblin treasure - One moment diamonds and the next pebbles
4th Rule - He who wishes to become rich from this roulette must have both patience and money
