Perfect Wife

Perfect Wife (Hulu)

Brendan’s Alternate Tagline for Perfect Wife:

Perfect at being a narcissist.

Quick synopsis:

The story of the disappearance of Sherri Papini.

Fact for Non-History People:

The crime of kidnapping is hard to number because many people just become missing persons. There were 70,000 missing persons over the age of 18 cases in 2001 for instance.

Fact for History Nerds:

Yeah, I can’t say much more without ruining it.

My Take on Perfect Wife:

Ok, let’s do the non-spoiler part. If you have never heard of this case, then enjoy! This is well done. Stop reading. I’m going to spoil a huge part of this. Thanks for reading! Bye!

Thanks for sticking around my spoiler friends! Remember the absolute garbage human that is Sherri Papini who orchestrated her own kidnapping? Yes, this is the one! This is three episodes, and they dispense with the suspense of what happened to her by the end of the first episode. I know some people complained about them acting for a whole episode like we don’t know what happened, but honestly, I thought it made the documentary better. If you already know what happens, you get to see how all of these wonderful people go looking for her, how it affected her family, and how much effort was put in.

Which of course makes you hate Sherri even more for episodes 2 and 3. Instead of suspense, there is a true reckoning of the way she tortured her husband, children, and the rest of her family. If you like true crime docs, this is a must watch just based on how bizarre the story ends up being.

Verdict:

Very good. Watch it here!
