Incorporated in 1968 and listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in July 1986, Café de Coral Group (SEHK: 0341) is one of Asia’s largest publicly-listed restaurant and catering groups. With deep roots in Hong Kong, the Group has established its position as a market leader in the fast food industry over the past 50 years. Today, our businesses include quick service restaurants, casual dining chains, institutional catering and food processing. The Group operates over 470 dining outlets – as well as 4 ISO-certified food processing plants – in Hong Kong and Mainland China.   • We are honoured to participate in the launch ceremony and seminar of the Food & Beverage Industry Carbon Neutral Programme, which is supported by the Environmental and Conservation Fund and organised by the Hong Kong Federation of Restaurants & Related Trades together with HKPC - Hong Kong Productivity Council. As one of the keynote speakers, our CEO, Piony Leung shared insights into our sustainability journey, highlighting our comprehensive strategies aimed at minimising environmental impact and reducing carbon footprint.   • Providing customers with an exceptional dining experience while prioritising sustainability has always been our goal. We are proud to share with you our latest achievement in green operations – our brand Jolly Congee & Noodle in Island Place, North Point, has recently been awarded the highest level of "Three Leaf" rating under Swire Properties' Green Kitchen Initiative, making it the first brand within the Group to receive this recognition.   Commenced its operations in May 2023, Jolly Congee & Noodle has implemented various green features to enhance energy efficiency and facilitate waste segregation, including high-efficiency induction electrical stoves, variable speed exhaust fans, a dishwashing machine with heat recovery and water recycling capabilities, LED lighting, and food waste recycling. Additionally, the staff has undergone training to enhance their awareness of environmental protection and food safety.   We express our heartfelt appreciation to Swire Properties for providing a platform that fosters discussions on sustainability. The Green Kitchen Initiative aims to integrate highly-effective sustainability solutions into the design of their premises prior to operations, to maximise environmental performance and enhance the wellbeing of the staff. We eagerly anticipate further collaboration between tenants and landlords in promoting ESG initiatives.   • As the Dragon Boat Festival 🐲 is approaching, we are taking this opportunity to spread joy and warmth in the community. Today, Super Super Congee & Noodle joined hands with the Neighbourhood Advice-Action Council (NAAC) at Yat Tung Estate, Tung Chung, to give away over a thousand rice dumplings to 500 underprivileged families, allowing them to savour this traditional delicacy and enjoy the festivities with their loved ones. Janice Cheng, General Manager of Super Super Congee & Noodle, and members of our staff had a delightful afternoon engaging with members of the community – such personal, heartfelt interactions are what we value the most.   • Sustainability has continued as a key food trend in recent years with more consumers making mindful choices for ingredients that are of lower environmental impact and responsibly sourced. Always listen and respond to our customer needs, Café de Coral fast food recently partnered with Green Common OmniFoods and Carbon Wallet, to promote carbon reduction with the introduction of the latest vegetarian menu option - “Plant-based Fish Fillet Baked Rice”, featuring OMNI plant-based fish fillet and served with fiber-rich red rice. Vegetarian offerings not only cater to diverse dietary preferences but also contribute to a low carbon footprint and promote sustainable development. Choosing a vegetarian meal can reduce carbon emissions by an average of 997g compared to a non-vegetarian meal, based on the calculations by Carbon Wallet. With the launch of our popular signature vegetarian products - “Baked Plant-based Pork Rice” and “Baked Plant-based Spaghetti Bolognese”, it is estimated that our vegetarian baked series has successfully helped reduce carbon emissions by 612 metric tons, equivalent to the carbon absorbed by 26,624 trees per year in 2023. 🌳 To further encourage a green diet, a new carbon reduction mini-game is launched on the Club 100 mobile app to offer multiple rewards to customers for the purchase of the new dish.
