We’re delighted to have joined the Food Angel team recently for an afternoon supporting their worthwhile social enterprise, saving edible surplus food from different sectors of the food industry that would otherwise be disposed of as waste. Following strict safety protocols, the rescued food items are prepared into nutritious meals before being distributed to support Hong Kong’s underprivileged communities. On 24 July, five of our Carlyle & Co. Hong Kong Associates volunteered to prepare and sort raw vegetables in Food Angel’s kitchen. In three hours’ time, we peeled more than a hundred carrots and potatoes, doing our small part to support the charity’s incredibly valuable work. It was an afternoon well spent, and we were thrilled to connect with a cause that embodies our shared values of supporting sustainable food practices in a way that benefits our local community.
