  #YCare【Dancing with the Elderly】Intergenerational Harmony through Dancing 🕺💃   Our Y-Care CSR Scheme has launched another innovative activity! 🎊 This time, we collaborated with Sime Darby Motor Group (HK) Limited to bring an unforgettable joyful experience to the elderly!😊   Our staff members first received special training in "Happy Chair Dance" and then became instructors. 👨🏫👩🏫 They then taught the elderly the techniques of "dancing while seated". This not only provided great entertainment, but also effectively trained their limb coordination, grip strength, balance, and muscle power! 💪 This activity helps the elderly develop a good habit of regular exercise, which can improve their physical health while allowing them to make new friends - a win-win situation! 🏋️♀️🤝   The highlight of the event was the "Dancing with the Elderly" party co-organised with the volunteer team from Sime Darby. Participants wore fun masks and danced joyfully together, creating an incredibly lively atmosphere! 🥳🎭 The photos clearly show the beaming smiles on the elderly's faces! #YCare【 Bringing Families Together this Summer】 🌞  We are committed to building a supportive network for families, empowering children to develop essential social skills in a safe environment.    We were delighted to have our Y-Care corporate partner, Hang Seng Bank, joining us for the recent "Parent-Child Fun Summer Camp". Together, we created unforgettable summer memories for our service users. 👪 Through team-building games and activities, parents and children fostered cooperation and interpersonal skills. 0815 National Ecology Day: Over 100 Youth from the Greater Bay Area Come Together to Protect the Ecology 🌍🌊🏞️ The YMCA has been a long-term advocate for sustainable development, publishing an ESG impact report as early as 2019 and organizing various sustainability education activities across its service units. 🌱📊 Today, on National Ecology Day, Hong Kong Social Service Professional Alliance of The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, FAZE Community Well-being Foundation (Guangzhou), Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong and Guangzhou Ocean Carbon Peak & Carbon Neutrality Research Association co-hosted an environmental protection event in the Greater Bay Area. Embracing the pivotal concept put forward by President Xi Jinping “Lucid Waters and Lush Mountains Are Invaluable Assets”, the activity themed "From Awareness to Protecting Nature" took the participants joined forces in group cleanup efforts at beaches and country parks, as well as sharing sessions and green workshops at the YMCA Yau Oi Youth Village. Over 100 young people from the Greater Bay Area came together to learn about and protect the ecology. 🌿 This was an excellent opportunity for the youth in the Greater Bay Area to put ESG principles into practice and contribute to sustainable development. The event also echoed the "Sustainable Planet" core pillar of the YMCA Vision 2030, and we will continue to push forward carbon neutrality goals through more environmental protection initiatives. #YCare【Light Brick Architect】Seeking Happiness, "Lightening" Your Heart Workshop ✨  Y-Care corporate partner CITIC Telecom International’s volunteers collaborated children participants to configure circuit designs using light bricks (glowing construction blocks), creating light-sensitive devices. #Ycare【Empowering Youth to Fly 】🌱   Y-Care corporate partner Hong Kong Land HOME FUND corporate volunteers recently visited our Jordan center and made steamed buns with a group of students. From kneading the dough to shaping and coloring, the volunteers participated alongside the children, who rarely go into the kitchen to experience the joy of baking and together embody the spirit of teamwork. This community program commenced in November 2023 and will run for two years, continuing to provide underprivileged students and their families in the West Kowloon area with targeted academic support 🧠, STEM courses, traditional Chinese and Western medicine treatments, emotional support, and holistic well-being assistance 🧘.    Interested in becoming a Y-care corporate partner? 【Y-Care 2024】The Y-Care CSR Scheme & Sport-Friendly Action Award Presentation 2024 was held on June 28th, honoring over 80 awarded enterprises and organisations for their collaborations with YMCA on various community initiatives throughout the year. 🥳 Congratulations! 👏🏻 "Be a Global Citizen Campaign" 2023-2024 Awards Ceremony On June 22nd, we had the pleasure of organising the "Be a Global Citizen Campaign" Awards Ceremony 2023-2024🌍. We are very grateful for the strong support from and participation of the "Be a Global Citizen Campaign" Steering Committee, including the Chairperson Mr Andy Tsang, GBS, PDSM, PMSM, JP, the members Prof Edwin Chan, Dr Janet Chan and Ms Irene Ng; and Dr Bonson Lee, our Acting General Secretary. Aside from awarding gold, silver, and bronze awards to 146 deserving winners 🥇🥈🥉, the day's highlight was the 'Inequality Experience Game'. This engaging and educational board game provided our participants with a hands-on experience of the inequality and challenges faced by various societal groups, helping them better understand one of the four pillars of the "YMCA Vision 2030" - "Just World", as well as the UN's Sustainable Development Goal 10 (SDG 10) "Reduced Inequalities". We're also thrilled to share that 4 university students successfully received funding 💰 from the "Ultimate Global Citizen Award" to embark on an exciting trip to Finland this summer to uncover the secrets behind the country's renowned happiness and well-being 🥰. This fantastic team also shared their project plans at the ceremony. [The 14th Regional Youth Symposium | Highlights of sparkling experiences]  The “14th Regional Youth Symposium”, which brought together youth workers from five places, came to a successful conclusion after four consecutive days of fruitful discussion. It had been five years since the last Regional Youth Symposium. As the organiser this year, Chinese YMCA is very happy to reunite with the representatives from the five regions. We have specially arranged several workshops and visits to showcase our latest ministry services and practical experience in response to “Community Wellbeing”, one of the core pillars of "YMCA Vision 2030".
