[Site Visit 🗺️] Earlier in June, Mannings-Egis Joint Venture (MEJV) was awarded the Smart and Green Mass Transit System (SGMTS) project in the Hung Shui Kiu/Ha Tsuen New Development Area (HSK/HT NDA) in Hong Kong. To further investigate latest technology applications and practices, Dr James, Jian Xiong, Egis Managing Director of Hong Kong and Macao, and Coco Xu, Egis Project Manager, as part of MEJV team, carried out insightful site visit to Xiamen and Yancheng in China from 14-16 August, along with Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD), Hong Kong SAR Government and Transport Department, HKSAR Government. Organised by China Railway Siyuan Survey and Design Group, the visit explored sustainable public transportation solutions and practices. MEJV experienced advanced Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and Super Autonomous Rapid Transit (SRT) systems on site. The innovative approaches and technical discussions with operators provided valuable insights and know-how for the ongoing project and beyond. Exciting news! 🎉 We secured ‘Preparation of the Climate Adaptive Strengthening of the Lower Eastern Chao Phraya River Water System Investment Program’ in Thailand. This project is a critical part of Thailand Government's Master Plan comprising nine components to mitigate future flooding and increase irrigation along the Chao Phraya River. The devastating 2011 floods in the Bangkok metropolitan area caused huge damages, underscoring the urgent need for these adaptations. Egis, along with our partners Deltares, Panya, CIRAD and Espelia, has been appointed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to conduct the technical, economic, financial, social and environmental assessments for the first phase of this plan. We'll be working closely with co-financiers to ensure the success of this crucial climate adaptation initiative. This project award aligns with Egis' mission to create intelligent, climate-resilient infrastructure. [Meeting Highlights 📅💡] It was a productive meeting with Ms Bernadette Linn, JP, Secretary for Development of Hong Kong Government 香港政府, Ms Christile Drulhe, Consul General of France in Hong Kong and Executives from French Chamber in Hong Kong last week. [Success] 📍Secured Contract for North Lantau Transfer Station and Outlying Islands Transfer Facilities in Hong Kong   Egis has been appointed by Environmental Protection Department Hong Kong SAR through contractor client, Canvest Environmental Protection Group Co Ltd - Paul Y. Engineering Group Joint Venture, for North Lantau Transfer Station and Outlying Islands Transfer Facilities Second Follow-on Contract. Egis will provide #BuildingServices Engineering for the #refurbishment of North Lantau Transfer Station (#NLTS) located at Siu Ho Wan and seven small-scale waste transfer facilities (Outlying Islands Transfer Facilities “#OITF”) located at Mui Wo, Cheung Chau, Peng Chau, Hei Ling Chau, Yung Shue Wan, Sok Kwu Wan and Ma Wan. The project duration is 4 years. 👷♂️ Upon completion of works, there will be improved efficiency in waste handling and enhanced environmental performance with, for example, an upgraded odour control system, electric propelled purpose-built waste container vessels and generally enhanced #EnergySaving management in the operation of NLTS and OITF. ♻️ The project will benefit the local and wider community and promote #sustainable treatment and #WasteManagement for Hong Kong. 🌱 #Egis #ImpactTheFuture #NorthLantau #TransferStation #Engineering
