In Hong Kong, our colleagues enjoyed an afternoon of fun with their families at the office, with activities including face painting, family portraits, and guided tours. In Malaysia, we organised a visit to the Forest Research Institute Malaysia in Kepong, Kuala Lumpur. Our colleagues and their families enjoyed an educational afternoon learning about tropical forestry research and engaging in special activities, including a jungle trek. In Cambodia, the Family Day featured a range of activities for our colleagues and their children such as art and craft, team competitions and a movie experience at the EXCHANGE SQUARE mall. #hkland #hongkongland #inspireaspire #FamilyDay

AI is undoubtedly playing an increasing pivotal role in motivating tenants to implement ESG practices and enhancing building automation. Andy Yeung, Director & Head of Technical Services, Mark Lam Head of Investors Relations & Corporate Sustainability and Grace Lam, Senior Sustainability Manager recently sat down with Ming Pao and shared how banks have been driving the ESG agenda over the past 4-5 years, putting pressure on listed companies like Hongkong Land to implement ESG measures. Mark shared observations of tenants and their employees’ increasing expectations from their landlord on ESG-related matters, such as waste management and emission reduction. To address this, Grace shared that Hongkong Land has launched a Tenant Sustainability Partnership Programme, providing tenants with a checklist to confirm environmental initiatives in their offices and organizing community engagement activities to encourage participation. Andy shared some examples of how Hongkong Land has reduced electricity usage by 30% from 2008 to 2022 by upgrading building facilities. Supported by IoT and AI, he explained how the company is implementing predictive maintenance to optimize system performance. Measures include using double-glazed windows, obtaining higher green certifications, and replacing HVAC, fans, and elevators with more energy-efficient models. Data analysis and AI models have helped improve fan efficiency by 7-14% and automate air conditioning based on staff return patterns, yielding over 20% electricity savings on elevators. We look forward to continuing to work alongside our tenants as we increase automation and AI integration across all building systems. #Hkland #HongkongLand #inspireaspire #PropTech #AITechnology #SustainabilityFramework2030

Hongkong Land Holdings Limited announced its Half-Year Results for the six months ended 30th June 2024. Results Highlights  ▪ Underlying loss of US$7 million due to provisions in China Development Properties  ▪ Excluding non-recurring provisions, underlying profit was US$288 million  ▪ Investment Properties contributions resilient, underpinned by market leading occupancy levels  ▪ Tomorrow’s CENTRAL: US$1 billion strategic investment in the future of the Central Portfolio announced  ▪ Interim dividend of US¢6 per share, unchanged from the prior year  “The Group’s first half results produced a modest underlying loss due to non-cash provisions in the carrying value of some China Development Properties projects. Contributions from Investment Properties were stable, despite market headwinds. Excluding provisions, Development Properties contributions were lower than the first half of 2023 due to the phasing of project completions. The Group continues investing for growth and strengthening its market leading position. Tomorrow’s CENTRAL, a US$1 billion investment to reimagine our core Hong Kong retail portfolio will shortly commence in phases over the next three years. In Shanghai, the next chapter of Hongkong Land’s growth is being crafted with the development of the West Bund project, a large and diverse district of commercial and residential properties that will open in phases between 2024 and 2027,"  Michael Smith, Chief Executive at Hongkong Land. At Hongkong Land, we believe arts and culture plays an important role in fostering a vibrant community. As we continue our commitment making art and culture accessible to all, we are pleased to support the “Mother Nature and Our Next Generation Exhibition and Community Art Programme”, an initiative co-launched by Art of MY Family (AoMYF), a Service Partner of Project Futuremark, a Hongkong Land HOME FUND sponsored programme. Running from December 2023 to August 2024, the programme aims to introduce children and teenagers from underprivileged families in Hong Kong to art as well as the importance of living sustainably. The exhibition consists of various elements: an exhibition; pine cone painting workshops led by instructors and assisted by the Hongkong Land HERE2HELP volunteering team, puzzle workshops, drawing and colouring competitions; guided tours and a digital learning manual.  The exhibition is currently on display at The Rotunda, Exchange Square until 31 July and is open to the public.  #HKLand #HongkongLand #inspireaspire #arts #sustainability #HKLHOMEFUND #HERE2HELP #AoMYF
