#DaddyDaughterBall 2024 - A Carnival-Themed Party with Smiles! On 1 June, the annual #DaddyDaughterBall was a roaring success! We pulled out all the stops to create a truly memorable carnival-themed celebration for our guests. From bright colors and festive decorations to exciting games and, of course, a memorable moment of Daddy Daughter First Dance, the DDB 2024 event was a night to remember. Our first parental workshop will be hosted on Wednesday 21st February 6.30pm - 8.30pm in collaboration with The Child Development Centre at their North Point Centre. A topic which has been frequently raised within our community is how can we support our children and adults by effectively managing challenging behaviour. The strategies delivered in this workshop will help caregivers to gain some positive behaviour strategies to manage challenging behaviour using the principles of the Positive Parenting Programme. The workshop will be delivered in both English and Cantonese and will be available in person and via zoom. This is a free workshop to all and the strategies can be applied to any age group. Last Saturday marked the official opening of the Child Development Centre’s (CDC) New Centre in Fortress Hill. This community asset offers affordable comprehensive intervention services for children at an early age and embraces inclusiveness for both non-Chinese speaking (NCS) and Chinese-speaking children. We were honoured to welcome over 50 valuable guests who were present to join us for this joyful and meaningful occasion. The officiating guests - Ms Nelly Li, Senior Manager, Charities of The Hong Kong Jockey Club, and Ms Sabrina Ho, Chairman of the CDC hosted the plaque-unveiling session of the ceremony. After the ceremony, Team CDC gave tours to guests in the well-equipped classrooms, individual therapy rooms, and even the waiting area to show how we help facilitate the children’s learning. Again, our heartfelt gratitude extends to The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust for funding the CDC's newly relocated centre which is nicely renovated and well-equipped as an inclusive environment providing self-financed early intervention services for children with a wide spectrum of additional needs, including Special Educational Needs (SEN). 上星期六是明德兒童啓育中心（CDC）於炮台山的全新教學中心之開幕日。新址作為一項社區資產，專為幼兒童提供其家庭能夠負擔的全面早期介入服務，教學環境更兼顧到華語及非華語孩子的需要。 當天，我們有幸請到現場超過50位來賓蒞臨中心，一同參與這場喜慶又別具意義的活動。主禮嘉賓——香港賽馬會慈善事務高級經理李綸女士，以及CDC主席何智慧女士，為我們主持感謝銘牌揭幕儀式。 儀式過後，CDC團隊帶領一眾嘉賓參觀中心，包括設備完善的課室、一對一治療室，甚至等候區亦有精心細節，幫助促進孩子學習。 在此，我們再次衷心感謝香港賽馬會慈善信託基金撥出款項，資助CDC遷移至新址。新中心環境優美、設施齊全，有助推廣共融關愛，為有不同額外需要（包括特殊教育需要，SEN）的孩子提供自資的早期介入服務。 #childdevelopment #specialneeds  The Hong Kong Jockey Club
