🚀 The legal merger is completed: welcome OTP banka in Slovenia! 💚 📢 OTP Group has reached an important milestone in Slovenia: today, the two local members of OTP Group, Nova KBM d.d. and SKB banka d.d Ljubljana - after all the necessary regulatory approvals - successfully completed the legal merger, and will continue to operate under one brand name, OTP banka d.d. from tomorrow. The legal merger will be followed by an operational merger process. 💪This is the largest merger of banks in the history of Slovenia, and OTP banka will have the largest market share of loans and deposits in Slovenia (according to the data of 31 March, 2024) and will be the second largest non-Hungarian branch of the international OTP Group (following the Bulgarian DSK). Results & expectations 72 percent of OTP Group's consolidated profit after tax of EUR 1.27 billion in the first half of the year came from group members outside Hungary. For the first time, the full first-half results include the performance of the Slovenian NKBM and the Uzbek Ipoteka, acquired last year, said Laszlo Bencsik, OTP Bank's Deputy CEO. In addition to the good profit result, he emphasised that another positive aspect is that lending activity has accelerated in several countries, with an increase in loan demand, which in Hungary is clearly linked to retail loans. 📢 All members of the OTP Group generated a profit in the first half of 2024, resulting in a consolidated profit after tax of EUR 1.27 billion. 🤝 The bulk of this, 72 percent, came from non-Hungarian group members, which also accounted for 65 percent of the group's half-year revenue of EUR 1.7 billion. 🚀 Performing loans played a key role in the profit growth, up by 6 percent year-on-year and nearly 3 percent quarter-on-quarter. As GDP growth in all countries is dynamic and better than last year, OTP Bank's management maintains its 2024 expectations set out at the beginning of the year. The new owner is Banca Transilvania. 🤝 🌍 OTP Group continually works towards increasing its market share in the CEE region - and recently in Central Asia - through organic growth and acquisitions.
